  1. Nope, can't assume any of that to be fact until it's officially stated as such. How do any of us know what's gone on to get to this? Whether he can nail a drop from 60 or from 6, or if he's your favourite player or your least, still don't know enough to make judgement IMO.
  2. There are going to be 2, or even 3 sides to this story. Until we know all the facts ( if we ever do ), then got to take it at face value. Frans has withdrawn for undisclosed reasons. End of! No point speculating, or making sweeping comments or judgements. Will we miss him on Saturday, and going forward ? For sure we will.
  3. Move to Durban.
  4. Got to stop there. World class. Those freshly cooked, warm, buttered potatoes, and the Chelsea bun slices. Eish.
  5. Hospitality was world class, but the -2 degree starts were bleak. That section along the Wilge River at the start of day 2, with ice on the dirt road was something I've never experienced before. WRT hospitality, the mealie bread on day 1 and 2 was about the best thing I've ever eaten in my life
  6. It was hundreds. Really easy to follow. Didn't affect the riding one bit. Took one wrong fork on day 1 cos wasn't concentrating, and after about 10m the thing shouted at us to turn around. A lot of the time you just following riders in front of you anyway. All good, and IMO the way to go.
  7. Yoh, body not sure what's going on this morning, after 9 days, it's ready to go again. Nice to sleep in my own bed though. What an amazing experience. Huge thumbs up to the race organizers. Just the cold nearly killed us. Durban boys get freezing below 15 degrees, so when it's subzero we got issues! Descent down Mt Paul and climb up Pufadder will live long in my memories!
  8. I need to upgrade my fork. Currently Rockshox 29er QR fork, with Hope Pro 2 Evo hubs. Is it possible to change that to a 15 mm through axle fitting without drama, or is the hub specific to QR?
  9. Check all the crashes they showed after the broadcast? Couple of lads getting pulled out of the ditches. Hectic
  10. Less than 4 weeks to start. Time to fine tune the engines and think about easing back on the 16 hour plus weeks soon. Really looking forward to this one.
  11. DALE!!!! What a legend.
  12. Well done bru. That's a great effort. It's always a good day out, but only ever done 1 at a time before. 8 a bit out of my pay grade I'm afraid. Interesting to see how your distances varied per swim. Got to swim straight.
  13. I need some advice wrt following a saved route on my Garmin 500. I have a number of routes saved as courses on the device, but can't seem to find how to actually follow them. Tells me when the course is found and shouts when I go off the course! but how do I get the crumb line on the screen to follow?
  14. On their sizing grid, I'm just inside medium ( near small). Would you go smaller if you near the borderline?
  15. I'm up for some new compression pants. Old boys stretched and losing effectiveness. I'm looking for a good recovery performance and comfort, more than a bargain. Any suggestions as to brand?
  16. Announced?
  17. If Morne not fit for the next game who we going to pick in his place? I would pick Wayne Parnell.
  18. Glad it's not just me who was disappointed in how it ended up. Would love to know who actually made the call to watch the penultimate 2 overs sail past. Don't think it was Dale or Vern! However if you had offered us a draw yesterday when Hash went, every single one of us would have taken it and run. Hats off to AB and Faf though. Our T20 and 50 over captains playing orthodox percentage courageous skillfull cricket. Maybe Faf is the long term no 4 after Jakes?
  19. I also swim as a form of cross training. Usually twice a week , somewhere between 1500 and 2 clips. I'm a *** swimmer but really enjoy it , and do find that it helps me recover from bike sessions, plus definately adds another cardio workout. Only thing I struggle with is kicking sets when my legs are tired, often can't do more than a couple of lengths kicking. I prefer sets with a pull-buoy and hand fins keeping my legs neutral.
  20. After the 6 th beer, how did you manage to keep count of what came next? Do you take a scorer along? My Maths would be nonexistent by then
  21. Cool. See you there. First for me next year, so can't help with the logistics . Just know rule # 5 will need to be applied.
  22. That mooty is world class. Also works for headaches I hear.
  23. Not the longest but the meanest. The last little drag up past Westridge Tennis stadium before the downhill into town during Shova when you absolutely beaten and hanging onto your bunch for dear life.
  24. I used one on my original 26, as just found the cockpit too cramped. Certainly worked well for me. Isn't that what they are designed for?
  25. And most exciting is sight casting to shad off the rocks a bit North of that. Nothing quite like seeing them smash the fly from underneath at pace.
