  1. I shave. Mainly ride MTB but do some road as well.
  2. When i bought my 5 bike about 2 years ago it cost about R5000. They also add another gas lift to support the lid when you have bikes on. Otherwise if you are intersted in a 5 bike let me know.
  3. Hi Cranky I have a Strides 5 bike and am looking to upgrade to a 7 Bike. It is a very good rack but does cost a bit more than the Venter version. It does accomodate any bike from a 24" to a 29er(That i have personally tested). The only thing is you need to order it with the arms that can hold the 29er front wheel(which is not a major issue). Hope this helps. (Also the service you get from Mark at Strides is fantastic)
  4. Brilliant. 10/10
  5. +1 I have one at 10h00 and one at 15h00
  6. Very nice price if it is the same as the magic Shine. Let me knwo if you order one. Maybe we can split the shipping?
  7. WOW. This thread did a complete 180 there.
  8. My bike came standard with a 640mm wide bar and they are more than comfortable for me.
  9. Come on tell the truth. Thats your own HOME GROWN derivative of sealant. Trying to blame JOE! Shame on you.
  10. Volt - Sorry. I dont ride with the visor as i find it stops me from looking ahead.

  13. Now this got me laughing!!!
  14. There will be a third Sani2C this year called the Sani2C Trail. Received the following message from farmer Glen Hi all, In 2005 it was sani2c, three years later we had the sani2c Race and the sani2c Adventure and now in 2012, we are proud to announce the arrival of the sani2c Trail. Thanks to all of you who sent letters of motivation for the 3rd event. They were a great help in the negotiating with all the role players who have been persuaded and agreed to work for one more day. As was the case in 2008, when the Adventure was added, the addition of the Trail in 2012 will offer more opportunities for all the organisation’s and beneficiaries who gain so much from the events. How will the selections work? Although it won’t satisfy all those on the Waiting List, we will accept about 650 teams from the existing Waiting List from the Race and Adventure. We take more or less equally from each of the events. The following affects whether you will be accepted: • The time you registered and where you are in the queue during the Rush Entry process. • Whether one or more of the team participants are already registered in another event. If so, your team will unfortunately not be accepted. What is the process to get into the sani2c Trail? 1. On 6 September 2011 an email will be sent to all of those fortunate teams accepted to participate in the sani2c Trail. Should you not receive an email of acceptance into the Trail, it will mean that you unfortunately were not amongst those 650 lucky teams. 2. Accepted teams primary member will be able to visit the sani2c website, log in with their ID, edit their details, select their clothing sizes and make payment. Please do not try to do substitutions or make changes to ID numbers. You will have an opportunity to do this once we have confirmed your entry. 3. Accepted teams will have until 13th September 2011 to make payment. Please make this timeously so that we can sort out any queries should they occur before this time. Please note: we are unable to allow you to change your ID number from the front end, but most other details can be edited. If you have any queries, please contact Judy via email judy@sani2c.co.za. Dates • sani2c Trail: Register in Underberg on the 14th May & finish in Scottburgh on 17th May 2012 • sani2c Adventure: Register in Underberg on the 15th May finish in Scottburgh on 18th May 2012 • sani2c Race: Register in Underberg on the 16th May & finish in Scottburgh on 19th May 2012 Thanks again for everyone’s support and help. We hope that we have good news for your on the 6th September 2011. Kind regards, Farmer Glen and the sani2c team
  15. Hahahaha. Guess who's been attending comedy classes.
  16. And thats the moral of the story!
  17. On the short steep climbs i just power to the top. Never been much of a climber so my new theory is just to hit them hard to get it over and done with. After watching some downhill guys using the berm to turn tight corners and "pumping" off that as well as learning to using boddy weight rather than "Turning" the bike i enjoy techincal tuning sections as well. That being said i also changed from 3 x 9 gearing to 2 x 10 and i am loving that even more now.(But that is a whole different debate.)
  18. Funny enough i am faster on my 29er than i ever was on my 26". Granted i can flick my 26" around any which way i like but i feel more control and speed both on the up hills, technical, down hill etc. on my 29er than i had on the 26"
  19. Most LBS that stock Specialized should have one. you go in SIt for a few minutes and then get up. As easy as that. PS i ride the Specialized Phenom 143. Was riding the smaller seat until they measured me. Now my ass feels like i am sitting on a cloud.
  20. Not at all. Just that in my opinion (Which i am entitled to) the benefits of a 29er outweigh the benefits of a 26". Having ridden both. 26" for about 6 or 7 years and a 29er for about a year and a half i can immediatly feel the diffenrence even on a flat road that requires no skill whatsoever. But then again, each to his own. Potatoe /Po Ta Toe
  21. I could not agree more. I climbed back on my 26" again this weekend as my normal machine was having a service done and i HATED every minute of it. And even typing HATED in capital letters does not express the true emotion i felt and a little girl came wizzing past me on the flats. I had to pedal my mielie off just to stay with her. I felt every small bump and pebble in the road. In fact i hated the small wheels so much that next time if my Proper bike is in for a service i just wont ride!
  22. Not sure exctly how it works but i was told by my LBS that they need to build it up or if there are warranty issues they will not be able to send it back to Specialized. I agrre that it is BS as in some cases the mechs at the LBS are less clued up than i am and that is saying something. Be that as it may after foking out for the frame i cant afford to have issues if anything goes wrong.
  23. After readin all the posts about the race i am keen to do it next year.Sounds challenging but alot of fun too.
  24. I had to scroll back up to see what you were talking about. And i thought men were not supposed to wear red shorts.
  25. Thanks for all these posts. The only snake i have ever seen here in midrand was a brown house snake. Now thanks to all of you i think i will be focusing more on road riding than MTB.
