I frequent the one in midrand and have never had any issues although the wife is not so keen on their food. It is the only place i can go to with my 2 year old without having to put myself through eating at Spur.

I found the route good but possibly some sort of seeding needed on the first day. Got caught behind a few slower riders in the first single track which was not pleasant. Also found the route marking in a few areas which could be improved. Struggled on day 2. Day 1 was fine and Day 3 i had a point to prove!!! Will i do it again next year? hmmmm will have to think about it. Just want to say thanks again to my LBS. Summit Cycles - who prepared my bike as if it was a racing machine. Performed without a single glitch.

Yip. Only started taking my bikes to them at the end of last year. Now my bikes dont go anywhere else.

i like the idea of the cost bring donated to a charity. But i also like the idea of receiving my medal for a ride where i really pushed myself. Yes the collection is getting a bit large now but there are still some medals that have meaning. Agreed the generic ones they can keep. Also dont like receiving the same medal as a guy who has done 50km when i have done 100km.

I totally agree. We had loads of good riders sitting at the back as they could get/push through to the front.

If anyone cares i just had a new cassette, chain and new blades fitted at my LBS. They worked beautifully!!! You should try them if you are in the midrand area!!!

HAHA. Mine works out to 151. There is no way i can keep my heart that low during a race. Pyhsically impossible even if i was a bystander watching a race.

I have a Venter Trailer and a 7 bike rack from Strides. Never had a days issue. The venter trailer is a 7ft and is strong enough that handle anything. (i did buy with the bigger wheels and the stronger axle). The strides bike rack is a bit more expensive than some others on the market but when you are carrying more than R150k worth of bikes i say the extra cost is worth it.
