  1. go 2nd hand, you might find a great deal for a better bike at the same price or the same bike at a lower price, but the 1st option is better
  2. So estimated riding time is about 4:30ish?
  3. It shows that what we think are hills are only little bumps. Saving up for a trip to France to ride up some of the alps for a week, i'm sure it will give me a new perspective of our "hills"
  4. My avg. for Tokai is usually about 18km/h with ups and downs. But our singletrack flows amazingly, not too much in the technical department so its easy to go fast on the dh's, even on a HT
  5. Ok, so... a) you bought a garmin, which is a step in the right direction. B) you need to go to settings-->bike settings-->data fields-->then go up/down to get the amount of variables shown-->then press enter while on a variable to change it-->scroll through the list of variables until you find what you want-->press enter-->repeat until you are satisfied. c) and that's how it's done.
  6. But... They could sell them at a normal price, not low, even a tad high to make people think they love their bike and want to get a great price. But again, If they stole 2 pina's maybe they just want to ride them? And there aren't too many pina's floating around CT so they should be easy enough to spot.
  7. I know that 5hours is extreme, but tis the season of base, (and giving and other stuff) but most importantly base. I'm only joking btw , with every up there is a down, so if we could avg 25 or even 20 up we'd be going 45 down the other side easily, so under 5hrs won't be a problem.
  8. I'll let you know if I can make it, bit far from CT though... I'm interested so i'll make it happen
  9. Dude, it's called life. Once I waited an extra week to buy a set of wheels and they went up in price by 1k. But hey, I knew it was my mistake. Then once I bought a set of Look Keo 2 Max pedals from CWC along with some new SiDi's. The next week the Look Aero Blade pedal thingy (the top one) was being sold for the same price I got mine for. But hey, I knew if I'd waited long enough for the pedals I would have found a great deal. So, if you have enough cash to spend R22k on a wheelset, well, it doesn't matter, but hey, it was your mistake. Maybe they had 2 of the wheelsets left, hadn't sold one in 6 months, so when you came along and bought the most expensive wheels in the shop that nobody else would dare buy, they decided to get rid of the rest of their stock quickly. You can't be angry at them because of the timing of your purchase.
  10. Whats wrong with 5hrs+ in the saddle? Good preparation for the 99er and bouckaert & soenen events
  11. My bike My deep-sections made me slower on the ups.
  12. ahh unlucky guys. Thats a lot of money in bikes gone. They must've been to the shop before if they knew where the bikes where... Maybe some parking lot camera's. Anyway, hope they get brought to justice.
  13. Well done
  14. Bulls team are here a lot from January onwards, I know a guy who is in quite close contact with them
  15. True, Momsens are quite cool. But for me, Cannondale, they're always the 1st, the other just follow like little sheep.
  16. Hmm, tough one... But honestly now, what would a cyclist be doing on the yellow line, I have to agree that they deserve it (if they crash) for possibly putting themselves and others in danger. Small price to pay for a lesson, although I guess now they've been taken away some people will go back to their old ways.
  17. Cannondale, just coz it is.
  18. Can someone explain what these do? Judging by the name when you go over them they jolt a driver awake and stop them from passing onto the wrong side of the road? clarification?
  19. I only use falke socks, running, riding or chilling. Willing to try something new though, they get holes fast from sliding around on the floor

    99'er 2012

profile looks quite tough Only problem is I don't know what to train for... Think I'll just use next year as a base year for longer stuff, then hammer it in 2013 for the shorter races for league and nationals, so, looks like I have some 5hr days coming up

    99'er 2012

hmm 123km? Wonder if I'll last, lots of training to go
  23. have you considered taking off the small chainring? Can only make you go faster.
  24. Don't they usually just fit an SRM powermeter on to make it legal? as opposed to the weights in the stays...
  25. Hi guys, So I have a powertap elite+ built into a DT swiss rim (road) it is fully ANT+ compatible (garmin type devices). Looking to rent it out for a week or two, daily rate to be agreed upon. (can be supplied with a Sram Force 25-12 for an extra fee) Only Western Cape, preferably Cape Town. So make an offer, nowhere to hide when you're training with power
