  1. I don't need that one specifically - any brand will do for now. It's a one off project that I need to measure some angles...
  2. cheers - thanks. I was hoping to find somewhere local where I could pop around and pick one up. But if I don't come right at least I now know where I can get a decent one at a reasonable price. Cheers!
  3. Not woodworking specific but thought you guys would know if anyone does: Where can I get something similar to the image below (builders protractor - not sure of the exact name)... Tried the local hardware stores with no luck.... Thanks
  4. Hey Skubarra - do you have a link to the new tariffs? Cheers
  5. I'm not a runner - but from mates that are, it's all about intervals :-) I'm sure the runners will give you some more advice.
  6. It's a good article and makes for interesting reading! Clearly a lot of work and effort went into it. A great addition to the article would be a year on year cost comparison for entries. For example 10 years ago (2007) the long route entry fee was R160. This year it was R350 - around 110% price increase. Is that too much? Are there more/less/same number of riders out there - but fewer entering events because of prices? Is the drop off in events because of fewer entries or fewer riders actually entering. I agree that the number of junior numbers is a worry. Could it partly be attributed to the competitive nature of youngsters who want to race by nature - but events are limited? Conversely, it appears mtb jnr numbers are increasing and this could be attributed to the increase in number of school events (spur league etc). Lots of questions, not a lot of answers...
  7. Yep - what Skubarra said... CTCT will use any results showing on Racetec for your seeding. The question is when exactly they will do the seeding and whether you can fit in a Racetec timed event before then. The difference between 'official seeding events' and 'other racetec timed events' in terms of seeding is that for official events no penalty is applied. Other events can/will be used but they will have an additional penalty applied to them. So you may smoke the Durbanville fun ride and cruise the PPA one tonner - but the one tonner ends up being you best seeding event as there is no penalty...
  8. Your theory is sound, however.... If we take into account the change in environment (political, social and environmental) and only work over the last 5 years (when the changes have been most significant), then we have about 55% chance :-) *Just having a bit of fun - not too be taken too seriously...*
  9. Try https://www.dietdoctor.com/low-carb/recipes - good place to start if you haven't checked it out already...
  10. Haven't looked locally for them - but readily available online... https://www.amazon.com/Vertical-Bicycle-Storage-Garages-Apartments/dp/B00CYK5GBW/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1515350028&sr=8-2&keywords=bike+pole+stand
  11. I'm not sure of any storage areas with easy access within the CBD. The best I can think of is perhaps check if your building (or buildings close by) has basement parking. Maybe they can 'rent' you a corner where you can lock up your bike? Alternatively try a pole bike rack. No drilling necessary. Just twist the pole to extend it until it is tight between floor and ceiling... Nice way to show off your bike too...
  12. Looking fab! Whats the USD price of that frame at the moment?
  13. Had a good chuckle. I suspect only those that matriculated before 1992 will get this one...
  14. And I think one of the other big players is http://dengfubikes.com/
  15. I eventually bought from Peter at www.xmiplay.com Peter has since left and started his own company: http://www.xmcarbonspeed.com/ I had no problems with XMIPLAY. Product was good and communication from Peter was efficent. I haven't bought from Carbonspeed yet - but Peter has been in the game for a while, so I suspect all will be good with them. Worth checking them out...
  16. I didn't buy form them as their shipping was more expensive the IPlay. But, that aside, I didn't turn up anything negative in my research into them as suppliers. In fact, as you say, they are one of the more popular suppliers. So, in my opinion, safe to buy from if the deal is good.
  17. I've got the IP-036 - which I think is the same frame, just a different supplier... Done the Attakwas, 100 miler, Trans Baviaans, Joberg2C and everything in between. No problems. For R6k (what I paid at the time), it's the best money I've spent on a bike... http://www.xmiplay.com/upload/_2013814185524828.jpg
  18. That looks like Big Day Out :-)
  19. Nice work! For the painting - did you spray the panels in place? Or remove, spray and reinstall? (Or just paint by hand?)
  20. Looking forward to the feedback. Looking for a decent pair myself.
  21. I think you pretty much always start at the same spot on the map regardless of the route chosen. But then at the first junction you automatically turn in the direction of your chosen route. For example if you choose 'flat route' (I forget the actual names), when you start you we will see 'Hilly Route' PR information. However, at the first junction you will turn left automatically instead of going straight up the hill. Thus, taking you off the Hilly Route and onto the Flat route. Hope that makes sense?
  22. Tulbagh - Local Dirt Roads and the Farm MTB Loop. Early morning pedal and wine tasting in the afternoon with the Missus. Nice get away from the rat race.
  23. Cool. Let us know how you get on because I have the exact same set up: Tacx Flux with ANT stick from sportsworld. Only difference is I'm using a mini-pc with stick direct in the back of the box.
  24. I have a similar issue: I'm using a mini PC that has a surge protector built into the power supply. On most occasions when I increase the speed of the fan, the PC 'shuts off' for a couple seconds. I think it is the surge protector kicking in. Fortunately, this doesn't affect the Zwift session or connectivity overall - I just loose picture on the monitor for a second or two. I suspect the same is happening to you - but with slightly different symptoms. Try running the fan from a different wall socket to you PC/laptop to see if that helps.
  25. Sounds like a trainer / ANT issue - not Zwift it self. As mentioned in the posts above try the following: 1: Plug ANT stick direct into laptop. 2: Make sure laptop plug into power and make sure the laptop does not have any power save modes enabled. 3: Don't use your phone/ipad etc to connect to the trainer/ zwift via bluetooth while running the tests. If you do all of this and still have issues then try download a trial version of BKOOL or any other trainer software and run the same tests. If the problem persists there is an issue with the trainer or ANT stick. In this case, try borrow a stick from a friend to identify if it is the stick or trainer. If the problem doesn't persist with different software, the problem is Zwift (unlikely). Remove and re-install.
