  1. cool. We expect a full review once you up and running!
  2. My thoughts: given the farce that CSA currently is, I suspect race some organizers will 'ask' you if you have a CSA licence but may not actually ask you to produce your card... I've seen this at a recent event... It went something like Entry official: 'you are a CSA member, right'? Me: 'Uh yes'. Entry official: 'cool, here's your race number'... As it turned out, I was a member as my membership expired the next week. But at the time I really couldn't say either way with any certainty
  3. That post is fro 2008 or something - a loooong time ago... ;-) The website probably doesn't exist anymore
  4. Looking forward to it! Been a crazy couple of months in the lead up to it so I've barely had time to think about it. Now it's almost upon us, nothing more can be done. Bring it on! ;-)
  5. I think you can do a free 30 day trial of strava premium? Will be enough to see you past race day...
  6. Good Ride today in B. Good bike marshals, group fairly well behaved, organisation as good as it could be. As usual, lots of support at the end. Massage tables was a nice touch (not sure if they were free?) Well done to everyone involved!
  7. http://www.sportsworld.co.za/category.php?id_category=447 There is a group ride pretty much each day of the week. The web page show the 'official' rides but there are also a bunch of others for guys and gals that can't make those times. Probably easier to join the Whatsapp group - then you will get daily updates of what rides are going on. If you want to be added just PM me your cell number...#
  8. Have you tried Cycle Teknix. I think they have a tour package (rental for a week or something like that) for R3750. At least you get to do a bit of riding before and after. Also includes helmet and spares... They may also have just a weekend package which may be cheaper... http://www.bicyclehire.co.za/ http://www.cycleteknix.co.za/bike_rentals.php
  9. Anyone got any pending orders? I need a new Thru Bolt. If anyone has is about to place an order I might just get a couple for spare... Thanks
  10. Any bike ride that ends with one of these in hand is a good bike ride :-)
  11. Which LBS? I know Sauser swears by these - and he should know what he is talking about. Interesting to note that he has developed his own sealant - he doesn't just use the generic Stans et al... http://christophsauser.com/featured-product/tire-sealant-nozisch-and-dynaplug/
  12. Anyone got a decent route map for the prologue? I've seen the map on the Epic site but it's not very clear. Are they going up the tar for malans? How they crossing over into Hoogekraal etc Trying to plan my vantage points for some photography.
  13. Yep - I use Rii remotes/keyboards with my various kodi/xbmc setups. No problems.
  14. If this is his webpage go here and complain: http://www.webstarts.com/abuse They will soon suspend his page until he contacts them to clarify....
  15. This is not an add - it's a forum post...
  16. Rhebokskloof near Paarl, Western Cape. Sanlam Invitational. Great weather, great scenery.
  17. I've always found this site a good starting point: http://www.dietdoctor.com/low-carb Easy to read and fairly concise. Once you are familiar with the basics, move onto the more in-depth stuff if needed. But get the basics right.
  18. Like this? http://www.xmcarbonspeed.com/Productinfo.asp?f=1384 I'm also keen on a pair, so if you do decide to go for it let me know. (likewise for the light-bicycle option)...
  19. Tapered headset required: 42mm upper, 52 mm lower. There's some good info here: http://chinertown.com/index.php/topic,388.0.html?PHPSESSID=990f20360c9b4202f4940b8b44fc780c Also check out this one for more info: http://chinertown.com/index.php/topic,4.0.html
  20. I must say, if it was me, I would be gutted and would be asking some questions of the organisers. However, that said, where do you draw the line? How many people have had their bike nicked from the parking lot of an event? How many have had their kit, helmet etc lifted while they have been enjoying a beer post event? All the organisers fault?
  21. Thanks for the blog - it's been great reading and very interesting. I hear where you coming from in terms of training/ racing/ results. If it's not working, you aren't going to enjoy it. If you aren't enjoying it then it's wasted. Two queries in one: have you read Art and Science of Low Carb Performance? They mention two points you raise: loss of fat by exercise alone (or lack thereof) and glycogen sources while on low carb. Not trolling - just interested in your thoughts if you have perhaps read it. Cheers http://www.artandscienceoflowcarb.com/the-art-and-science-of-low-carbohydrate-performance/
