    Garmin 305

I had the same problem, 4 units in 18 months. Eventually got them to upgrade me to a 705 for a reasonable price. It is a well documented problem (google it) there is a connecter between the two halves of the case which after time stops making good contact. I was told that newer units now have a hard wired connecter so shouldn't give the same problem.
  2. Question for Andrew/Ali - will it be possible to visit the coffee shop and viewing deck without paying the park entry fee i.e to visit as a spectator. Just thinking it will be cool to end a road ride there and meet up with buddies.
  3. I did 12km of trails whilst exploring in about 1hrs riding. I did ride some twice but there are lots of options on each trail so you have to go back and try the other routes. Once the other side is open I think you could easily spend a morning there without getting bored. Below is the image of the trails I rode, the section north of the highway is the bit that was closed.
  4. Yup I agree, the new Bike Park has something for everyone and certainly some sections cannot be underestimated !!! Sonic tried to fly over one jump without a parachute and crash landed on the second jump in spectacular fashion. Not sure exactly what happened to Big Ben but his face looked a mess. Then JayS decided to climb off over his handlebars and head butt a poor defenceless tree. The helmet distributors are going to be doing a roaring trade tomorrow with crash replacements. We will certainly be back and thanks Andrew and Ali for hosting us.
  5. Some say that the step between 52 and 34 is too big and that you will have problems shifting up and down. Interested to hear if it shifts ok.
  6. I think that is the answer, going to look around for some bottles, I hate getting my hands and gloves sticky.
  7. Good idea but not sure it would be durable enough. Maybe a resusable container or as Whasp are doing bring back 50 wrappers (or whatever it is) and get a free product. Kind of like a deposit.

    Death on 94.7

idrive, yes we all get short of breath sometimes but not to the extent that we seek medical advice for it. The guy obviously felt something was wrong so went to get professional advice. If the medic was not 100% sure that the cyclist was fit to continue or did not have the correct equipment to make a proper judgement then he should have advised him to stop, they were after all only 200m from Sandton Clinic at that point. If the cyclist then said that he will carry on anyway then it is his own problem.
  10. Yup, why shouldn't they. If they are multi millionaires that enjoy riding for the fun of it why shouldn't they go out and buy the best bike they can.
  11. Pornstar, did you see my comment on Page 16 about the sachets leaking etc.? Going to the Expo today to pick up my product.
  12. Also had two broken mounts but always replaced them before they failed totally.
  13. Pick me, Pick me .... I am taking a days leave in honour of the expo .
  14. Cool, I will bring two spare tubes with just in case (one of each valve type). .
  15. I don't think you need an account, you can send to Nic direct, I have mailed him the link to this thread and asked him to come give you drunkards some direction.
  16. 3 Comments, 1 positive, 2 not so good: 1) I tried the Green Whasp (100mg Caffeine) on Sunday at the OFM and it works. 2) When you tear off the tab of the sachet it is still not open, you have to use your teeth to further tear open the packet. This doesn't work well in a race. 3) When I was in Dischem Northgate yesterday most of the sachets in the box had been leaking, we opened 2 further boxes and all were the same. So yes the product works but I think you need to look at the packaging system (sachets) and fine tune it a bit. IanJ2008-11-04 23:55:30
  17. Good, glad to hear it. It is on our Tuesday and Friday morning routes. Are you joining us again tomorrow evening?
  18. They changed the rules at the same time as they changed the one to allow MTB'ers to do crit races. Have you finished filling in the sinkhole yet?
  19. Cool so when you coming on a Spruit ride with us?
  20. Very nice but has Zaskar adjusted the brakes properly?

    LBS Tantrum

This whole issue can be summed up quite simply: 1) The shop was wrong in supplying the wrong tube for the bike. They should have supplied a tube with Schrader valve. 2) Agteros should have checked that he knew how the pump worked after he purchased it. Most pumps come with instructions on how to change the adaptor. The fact that the pump would have worked for the correct valve is beside the point. I would take back the presta valve tube to the LBS and tell them to give you the correct tube and make a fuss about the inconvenience caused by having the wrong tube whilst out riding. If you are still unsure about how the pump works take it along and ask them to show you. IanJ2008-11-03 00:41:21
