Couple of direct mount options for R7000 - R9000 in the classifieds currently which look very reasonable.
Direct mount isn't essential but it is nice. đ
Otherwise a wheels on Tacx Flux or Kickr Snap for R4000-R6000.
Brand unlikely to matter, but can indeed be different.
For example, some may require two layers others can get away with one.
Some may work better with a layer of insulation tape as mentioned.
Then of course there's the issue of removal ... some can be a real pain.
Suspected it was bad when one of the camera angles showed him seemingly motionless in the ditch and a DSM rider trying to get to him to help. đ
There's definitely a couple of sore bodies in bed to night.
Santini and Assos are both upper end shorts, but fit is a very personal thing.
100km per week doesn't sound like a whole lot of time in the saddle đ¤ˇââī¸ (type of riding and terrain obviously plays a role) and that could be contributing largely to your discomfort rather than the shorts you're using.
You mention "gat-lam" but keep in mind that "harde-gat" comes with time. đ
WPCA is generally responsible for winter cycling activity as others have already mentioned.
I've also noticed that PPAs comms have become very limited and you'll probably need to follow their FB page to stay informed.
