Drop the entry costs. That together with travel/accommodation costs have become a massive barrier to entry. Tour Durban and similar events add further logistical and cost considerations where the start and finish are in two different towns/cities. So perhaps reconsider that too.

Seems grand tours are becoming two-horse races at best and often the 2nd horse isn't really even in the race. Tours need all of the best riders present imo. And some more SA presence in the breakaways on quiet days. 👀🇿🇦
