  1. Just be careful of overtraining and not arriving at the race at your peak sir
  2. Excellent both you and your domestic ? .....hopefully not to muddy this year and not to congested......MTB distance still to be confirmed?? 40...45...50 hmmm Yip but what hope is there of keeping up with him
  3. Ditto me as well Ditto that ditto' date=' me as well . [/quote'] Had to go check....actually my 9th. HA.........eks voor die ou ooms!!! http://www.advrider.com/forums/images/smilies/fitz.gif Aha but I did 2 laps one year does that count? Sure it counts!!! Then my second lap will also have to count, giving me 10! OK then I'm on my 9th ....
  4. Used dental floss to repair a sidewall cut .. also a patch on the inside just in case!
  5. cat-i - I manage OK so I guess you'll be fine
  6. So 18 months after the conversion unfortunately the valve has given up the ghost 2 tips I have picked up recently .... When you fit a new valve core dip it in some grease/vaseline, prevents that build up of sealant that eventually makes it difficult to inflate. When a valve does break out of a strip (as they will all eventually do ...) you can buy a replacement Stans valve that simply slips through the hole in the strip!
  7. I use Duratrain for recovery but only at stage races or when racing 2 days in a row, 200ml's taken within the hour after the race/stage (agree with having it as cold as possible). Use Carbo Supreme and supagoo's on the ride! Agree with Backward Ox - Steri Stumpie (chocolate!) is my drink of choice after 'normal' training rides!BigBen2009-11-09 12:42:18
  8. Hi Joe, yes they definitely do so your 'friend' can for sure try it out. I will let you know in a bit how much ....
  9. The new chain does mesh, but slips every couple of pedal strokes. If I use the same gear and don't put a lot of force on the cranks then it seems perfect. Dude just go and buy a new cassette!
  10. I will agree with Scotty besides the circus bike comment though
  11. A bike breaking a saddle (even God forbid a Geeaant), that's the best I've heard ......
  12. So my boet and I are yakking away as we do on our morning training ride about stuff that has no consequence whatsoever when he says:- "you scheme if we rub our glasses with a cut potato like I used to on my beetle's windscreen at the TopStar drive in will it prevent them fogging up like they did at Sabie in the rain?" Made me wonder if one could use those products like they have for motorbike visors for anti fog? Anyone tried something like that? Whatabout something on the outside so the water/mud 'slides' off? Some 'boere raad' any one knows? Something off of 'sooe maak mens'?
  13. let me just say do hill repeats (long hard steep ones) from now till the race!
  14. Wow that was 3 great days of riding. Friday was really tough with the rain and mud. Yesterday and today was fine though. For the first time in our 5 years of going there I rode a hard tail (only Sat and Sun). Was cool, man that FLX climbs like a mountain goat!
  15. Oi Boris if I am shouting 'trek' you better be moving your skinny ar$e out the way ;-)
