  1. You're welcome! I have a few of those on bikes. There are short and long versions so just check which would be right. @ChrisF ai man ... I don't know the 'make', just take the cheapest ones on Temu in my wife's order πŸ˜€ I doubt it's Forza though ....
  2. That's super, man I love what I like to call 'solution finders' as opposed to 'parts fitters' ... my mate @GrahamW from The Workshop in Alberhoughton is one of those. They are unfortunately few and far between! I'm busy with a 'rescue frame' project, a Giant Propel with all its proprietary bits. His advice, help and bits and bobs have been invaluable! If anyone is interested I could start a build thread for it I guess 🀷 The stuff he has done for me or suggested/advised to solve what I consider difficult, he always comes up with some way to get it done! Just 2 ideas, use it don't use it πŸ˜‰ I 3D printed this for my TT bike, been using it quite a while. Would one of these Garmin mounts, sold on Temu and I've seen them here in the classifieds, not also be a solution?
  3. Day 14/31 - Single Speed December 😎 It can't be explained, it can only be done! Another week of rides done
  4. I know of someone that had an e-bike motor replaced recently by his insurer, don't know the details though .... As an aside they insisted on future services being carried out by the local bike agent (A Trek E-Bike) PS seemingly NO chipping allowed else it's not covered? Upset him a bit, I just smiled ....
  5. Well done Chris! More sage advice coming .... in the future πŸ˜‰
  6. Se my net dit was nie weer in jou plakkies nie!
  7. Like I said my work here is done ... flip with my big mouth mine tomorrow will have to be on the drops from leaving the driveway till my return 90mins later!
  8. Dis orraait, more is nog 'n dag 😁
  9. My work here is done .... but mon dieu a visor? On the road? On the drops? Nee man Chris #MFM
  10. On an almost serious note, I was trawling round for some bits and bobs for yet another 'unusual' thing I'm busy with and chatted to a sample of 3 road riders 1) youngish lady, riding for 2 years, 'keen but not serious' she says ... "I've never even thought about using them, never saw a need" 2) father, riding 'for a long time' ... "I don't go fast enough to do that pro thing in the drops" 3) son (teenager), "ride whenever I feel like but still beat my dad" ... "no one ever told me when to use them" Nou ja daar het jy dit πŸ˜‰
  11. Sorrie ous but all this talk of gravel bikes is just a red herring ... where you put your hands when you ride your neither road nor mountain bike is irrelevant 😜 The was about the vast majority of ROAD bikers on the road that NEVER use the drops ... capiche?
  12. Ok so we've merely established that you 5 'ubbers do ride on the drops .... the rest πŸ€”
  13. Those are all very valid points and the very reason they are there at all! Thing is to my mind you are one of the .0013% of non pro riders that use them! Ja ja most statistics are made up on the fly anyway 😜
  14. Unpopular opinion perhaps but as per my observation over time it would appear that almost no one uses the 'drops' on road bikes anymore .... would it not be better for most to have straight bars or the cool kids could have these? Ek wonder maar net ....
  15. Still on track for the single speed only ride every day December ... Glad it's a 'rest' day tomorrow and a coffee ride is the order of the day 😴
  16. Google is your friend πŸ˜‰ https://www.sram.com/en/quarq/series/shockwiz
  17. Back on the Single Speed only December (ride every day) ... have to choose the routes carefully 🀨
  18. It never gets easier. It never will. Tomorrow is not the day where doing that thing takes no effort at all. Tomorrow is just a day later and possibly the day when it gets even harder but we still go out and do it!
  19. Just saw this FWIW
  20. Le Blaireau legs today or as Big George would say 'no chain day' ... rare as hens teeth! Can hardly wipe the smile off my face πŸ™ƒ
  21. Context is everything 😜 Was just gonna say tri bars on a gravel baaik? Nee man πŸ‘¨
  22. If you’re just riding for fun then do whatever you want 😎
  23. Ag no man ... since my life I haven't had to Google so many words at once 🀨
  24. I was very involved with a bike shop for a few years, fortunately ended in 2020 The best advice I remember was from a well known hubber and at the time also a sole proprietor of a bike shop ... he said just remember 'there are customers that you don't want', don't lose sleep over those!
