  1. No way anyone is crossing the Klipriver at that bridge today, even by bakkie I reckon!
  2. Crazy how I was able to cross (just) this bridge over Klipriver at about 8 and an hour and a half later when I came back there was no way [emoji848] Amazing how fast rivers can rise! Thanks to a friend Richard that gave me a lift across on the back of his bakkie [emoji41]
  3. Screenshot taken, just in case you need and can't find this later Phil .....
  4. 'walk assist function' ... I just shake my head
  5. A cup of coffee and 2 boiled eggs every morning doesn't matter if I'm resting, training or racing ... Race days I have 200ml of water mixed with 2 scoops of FiT DuraTrain about an hour before the start
  6. Danish media linking Jacob Fuglsang and Alexey Lutsenko to Michele Ferrari https://cyclingtips.com/2020/02/report-jakob-fuglsang-linked-with-banned-doctor-michele-ferrari/
  7. 'That motor can literally twist and rip a bike chain to pieces' Just shaking my head but I'm sure it's only to help the old and infirm get to the shop and ride with their mates .... https://electrek.co/2020/02/02/jeep-unveils-electric-bicycle-1-5-kw-peak-motor/
  8. Worn cassette perhaps if the chain and crank blade are new?
  9. Pretty similar to @Vetseun ... there's no water to be had (even to buy) between Vaal Marina and the Circus though [emoji47] Lekker day out on a bike!
  10. I did something similar once, rode it for a few days up and down Breedtsnek ... Decided it was a totally confused bike, put the flat bars back and now it's just an MTB like it always was and more fun. I prefer my gravel bikes with rigid forks though so maybe don't mind me?
  11. Just saw this and thought it may be of interest to you guys and girls ... https://www.time-to-run.com/gn/news/rules-governing-competition-shoes-for-elite-athletes
  12. Knowing I'm probably going to take some stick for my comment to come I've prepared my flamesuit so here goes ... I've tried, used and still use some of these 'Heath Robinson' wide range solutions on 9 and 10 speed MTB groupsets including the hanger extenders over the last few years. Unless you or the intended user are the type who are prepared to accept sub standard shifting I wouldn't bother. In most cases it'll work OK and now and then need a little 'nudge' to get up one or 2 of the gears. If you get it to shift up properly it'll not shift down smoothly over all gears and even be very slow to shift down if at all on those. As a cheap way to extend the use of the older equipment it is a way to go about it but I'd keep this in mind. I'm sure many hub 'spurts' will have had theirs working perfectly but this is my experience.

  15. Bike done and handed over [emoji41] Thanks for the seatpost Zaskar, used the one from my track bike I hardly ride on this bike due to time constraints. Now my track bike is complete again [emoji3] Thanks to Grumpy from CycleHub for the Shimano rear wheel, Byron from Just Cycles for lots of small bits and pieces ... lots out of my stash in the garage, all for a good cause!
  16. Rumor has it that they never identified him but rather one of his mates/acquaintances ratted him out for a 10 000 ZA rondt reward ...
  17. Good mielies mate! Have a good one
  18. Not been feeling so lekker the last few days so no riding ... cabin fever got the better of me so I just ambled the suburbs on the Kamikaze fixed gear, brakeless machine!
  19. Comes back to me like a bad dream [emoji35]
  20. Just be very careful of the speed 'ripples' on the R82 at the intersection where you turn left towards Lapeng/Daleside!
  21. I know some guys use puncture repair glue on plugs ....
  22. I don't even bother with the glue ????
  23. There was that time I had a go with this, clearly ahead of its time... was a load of crap IMHO Might as well just ride a mountain bike if you need that but just my opinion again, I'm sure they'll sell like hot cakes anyway
  24. Repurposed mine as a rigid single speed and fitted 27.5 wheels, an absolute joy to ride [emoji41]
  25. 'the Impey defence' as GrootLem calls it [emoji41]
