  1. Hi Guys, I know it's a long shot but I'm wondering if anyone has a Thule Euroway that they are stripping for spares. The locking lever that attaches the rack to the towbar broke and Thule wont sell me a new one as it's a "safety concern". The rest of the rack is 100% and I don't particularly want to take a second bond to buy a new one. I'm located in Gauteng. Forever hopeful.
  2. Pinarello Montello, 1988. Columbus SLX tubing, Shimano 600 gruppo, Campy rims, TTT bars and stem. Turbo attic 2 saddle
  3. Just buy the bike, the Tallboy is the best bike I've ever owned ( and I've owned many)
  4. Exactly!!! I did the Fire Station section on a 32x17 last week, almost killed me, the tree was the least of my worries.
  5. Also remember that with the Reverb you have to specify right or left actuation lever, ie do you want the actuation lever on the left or right.
  6. Hi Jack, we went to the World SS Champs as the Smurfs - I was the eldest, hence I became Pappa Smurf.......and it sort of stuck!
  7. Hub spacing is the same, most guys use a standard free hub with spacers to align the sprocket with the front blade. Chain tensioner is used when the frame does not have horizontal ( rear facing) dropouts, in order to keep the chain correctly tensioned. Can't post a pic, but hope this helps.
  8. Unbranded Chinese Carbon, a friend brought a few in. It's now a Spank fork!
  9. My Momsen STR 29, ready to roll.
  10. Would have loved to be there, unfortunately I'll be away......have a good one peeps! Papa Smurf will return, eventually.
  11. The Claude Butler in question also has odd sized crank bolts that are proving a challenge to remove!
  12. I have had nothing but excellent service from the Giordana agents. Their kit is also top quality and lasts if you follow the care and washing instructions.
  13. I've been running a Wolverine (back) and Weirwolf combination for the last year (albeit in 29'r guise) - all I can say is " unbelievable combination" WTB's are the best kept secret in the tyre industry and far outperform the mainstream brands.
  14. Who remembers what song this was used in the '80s? “That judgment is spoken by the eternal court of history...Pronounce us guilty a thousand times over: the goddess of the eternal court of history will smile and tear to pieces the State Prosecutor's submissions and the court's verdict; for she acquits us." Two Tribes 12" version, Frankie Goes to Hollywood.
  15. Rode the trail on a 32/20 all three days. Not too bad, just ran out of gas on the flats - but that was a trade off; worth doing.
  16. Paying it forward Dips - nice one. Sad that we have to put money up to hopefully get back what is rightfully yours. Hope it works.
  17. The Merida Big 9, air fork, great back- up from Cytek ( on the odd occasion it's needed) and an all round good bike.
  18. Why are you sorry for us? You're the clever clogs who bought the stuff and got poked by the taxman. And I have no idea where Cape Twon (sic) is, obviously there are no caps, water bottles nor tax there, or so it appears.
  19. Thanks for the positive feedback guys, it's nice to know that we get it right every now & then!
  20. With regard to the original post - there are two Santa Cruz hangers; QR and Thru-axle. It would appear that you were charged the former price in the first instance, and subsequently the latter ( and no doubt correct) price in the second. 'Phone around for prices on Santa Cruz hangers, I doubt very much you will find them any cheaper elsewhere - and no, our prices have not increased due to shop expansion.
  21. Did someone say Bauhaus? There must be a spy in the cab.
  22. It looks even better in the "flesh", I even got to ride it! Many happy miles Wayne.
  23. I will not enter in a grammatical point-scoring fray. And yes Mr Bornman, I was addressing the post to you. Flame on.
  24. If the wheel was so badly bent we would not have attempted to true the wheel. The fact that it was trued is testament to the fact that the wheel was not badly out of true. If the original poster was unhappy with our service then he should have contacted us and we would have advised him accordingly. And our wheel builder is very highly skilled, and certainly not a fool, as you so glibly infer.
