  1. The 2013 ice tech ones, they used to lock-up, lose power and become spongy on long descends. Bled them at different shops 3 time to try and resolve issue, with no luck. Had the old saints on my DH bike, which were proper, but now I only run Hope M4's. As this is the internet, everyone can have their own opinion:)
  2. Read somewhere XT and SLX shifters are basically the same, but XTR shifters have a different/better mechanism, making it better and much smoother... how true this is, I don't know and not enough time to google. As for the groupsets, they are all pretty sweet, except the brakes, Shimano brakes dont come near my bike again (Had the XT's)
  3. I see Ricciardo is disqualified due to fuel flow issues, feel a bit for him, especially since it was a home podium and he was so ecstatic http://www.racingfanatic.net/2014/03/daniel-ricciardo-disqualified-for-fuel.html
  4. I know nothing about motorbikes, but those Harley's are one of the suicide rockets ill get on
  5. Although it seemed slower, really enjoyed the race... And love the new (Old) Williams colour scheme! Want a bike with Martini theme! haha
  6. Intense Spider or Carbine, my American cents
  7. Not scared of the knobs, prefer tyres with aggresive tread, as I dont ride uphill, I usually push up to the top, haha WIll have ook at them
  8. minions look nice, but my holyrollers.... eish, if there is no berm... you will slide out, haha
  9. Haven't even seen a 3.0 on a 26" in a very long time, think import might be only option
  10. They are old (4 years+) and very little tread, so dont think they'll keep air. Seen a lot of people liking the Ardent tyres, back tyre seems sorted( excavator or Ardent), Looking for a round profile tyre for the front, something you cant always see on the pictures
  11. Ja, never had the cash lying around, things like brakes, shocks, extra bike was more important every time, haha Like the excavators, so think they will go on again at the back (dont mind weight to much). As for the Hans Damph's, still undecided, have seen some horrid reviews and people saying they are completely overated. AS for X-king rear tyre, the 2.4 was pretty burly with big knobs, was awesome as a Front
  12. Going to convert my bike to tubeless at last, need some Ideas what to put front and rear, As my current tyres (Maxxis holyrollers) are not meant for winter, lol For light DH, singletrack, jumping and trail riding, gravel or tar not in the equation. Give me some suggestions, looking at around a 2.4" front and 2.3 rear. Had Conti X-king 2.4 front with Kenda Excavator 2.1 (very wide and hich) back, were pretty happy with them. Should I just stick to these, expect get them in tubeless form?
  13. This was the best one for me and is very relevant!! If you're right (as a bike, it doesnt mean it will keep you alive)
  14. Clean socks, are the best socks
  15. I have them, got them beginning of the year, my first clipless ever (price so good, it was easy decision). Got them for like R280, from shop here in Stellies. Been riding with them on my SS crosscountry type bike. pretty sweet. No problems yet, easy clipping in and out, didtnt even adjust the screws, as the spring tension felt good. Havent taken them through heavy trails yet, as I prefer having my 5Tens on flats when in the air.
  16. To much reading... I like pictures diagrams and graphs
  17. Why have best one, when you can watch them all? +1 follow me Inside out Roam Where the trail ends (mostly for nice scenery in HD) New world disorder still my favourites, altough the quality so low its difficult to see bender when He's dropping And most of Ant Hill films
  18. Know some of the residents used to shoot 'em baboons with paintball guns (which I think is illegal) when I lived in Simon's Town, but that was to chase them away. Sounds like these guys were just harassing the animals in the wild, which is not on. Baboons are not well liked in Southern Peninsula or anywhere, where they cause big property damage.
  19. Dont know if you Hub guys heard of the term "FITNESS" before, I had it in High school, when I used to pedal 15KM+ on a BMX, like it was pedaling out of the garage: In High School: Delivered newspapers: 4KM mountainous route Rode to school: 8KM 10KM sessioning and builing jumps after schools 5days a week. not to mention Saturday and Sunday,
  20. These wheel size saddle articles reminds of when I was in school and you had to write a loooongg essay about some topic you cant find info about (predates wikipedia) and youd write LOADS of crap to fill up the space required by the teacher, lol... as they say, bull...t, baffles brains
  21. Thats the jump your looking at, either cheap chuckers/firballs and STP's for R3k-R4k, or the sweet chromoly frames at R7k+ Atleast on a DJ bike you dont need a geared drive train, try and upgrade to a SS frame from Diald, then you only have wheels and shock to worry about. No easy way around it, anything better than chuckers/firballs and STP's is going to cost you.
  23. Agreed, FF all the time. Last time i wore a pair of short finger gloves was 10years ago. FF gloves just so much comfortable, and I have never noticed my hands getting warm, haha
  24. I have the normal hardware store ones on my SLX crank
  25. Or just add some washers to old bolt (at the back) if you dont want washers to be seen
