  1. Yeah, smuggling crack is so two thousand and late...
  2. Aahw u guys say the nicest things... Totally turned around my 'fat day'...
  3. You two should go for coffee...
  4. A ride outside the 2 bike parks the target market usually ride inside, in close proximity to the start and finish point. If you ride off road bikes, the mx track is the MTB park equivalent, an outride is a lil enduro outing.
  5. Also, I find my first ascent bibs to quite comfortably accommodate a pair of socks, banana, and even a complex balloon animal giraffe, if u wanna continue to impress the laydeez
  6. Personally I was never keen on putting myself in a position to have my junk scrutinized n felt a lil 'naked' in bib shorts, and so swore blind never to wear anything but baggies. They certainly have their place in my everyday 30km or less park/trail rides. I prefer all things FOX. Any more than 30km I find bibs to offer a much superior comfort level from better padding that stays where it should, and it's far cooler (temp wise, not street cred wise) for longer days in the saddle, stage races etc. I find the baggies over a longer distance to bunch up in the groin area and actually create more friction where you don't want it. I was down at the epic, and saw only 1 guy in baggies, and thought "how is that okes region not killing him...?!". Every single other rider was clad in the toight stuff. There's nothing more retarded looking than a snug fitting 3 pocket cycling top with baggies, or Lycra shorts/bibs with a baggy freeride/trail/tee shirt.
  7. Apologies for the comment, I sent u a PM and didn't get a reply, so was frustrated with not being able to enter all week and the possibility of having to pay a day lic fee as well as late entry fee on the day.
  8. Ok i managed to enter on entrytime if any1 else is battling with Eventry. What a *** online entry site that is.
  9. Riding Thaba Trails on LSD tomorrow, and Sat, chill on sun and Walkerville race on mon...
  10. Who'd you contact to sort it...?
  11. I have the same problem. Eventry not picking up my CSA License, but i've definitely got one. Had to sort it out to enter Mankele 3 towers. 2012 - CSA Membership status: Membership / License Approved
  12. Sounds about right.
  13. The 1st half is awesome, quite technical, which is what I love. But from when you cross onto another 'plot', it fizzles out, markings are also up to interpretation as at some points you have the same colour arrows pointing in 2 directions. Worst part is that there's a dual direction singletrack on a relatively technical slate section, a disaster if I come bombing it down there while somebody's climbing it. Place has huge potential if they did something with the R30 bux u pay to get in...
  14. I'm down here at the Epic and was told by a volunteer that they get preference on entry and a discount on the following year's event. I'm guessing that's worth the 3.5k...
  15. White Santa Cruz Superlight Carbon Tallboy in the pipeline.
  16. Round the circus n up the slate hill n back...
  17. Ben u really wake up too early...
  18. The downhill is THE most exciting piece of trail i've ridden. There's nothing more i hate than climbing, but i'll gladly loop around and climb that retarded granny gear beast of a lung busting climb to ride back down over and over again. I rode it for the 1st time during the night ride, which gave me little time to re-think the stupidity of rolling down some challenging rock faces i couldn't see properly till i was in too deep. I returned 2 mornings later and Wendell n his crew had neatened up the climb to make it 100% rideable,(albeit in the granniest gear u have). The view from the top is amazing, you can stop n take it all in while u drink your water bottle, 3 litre camelbak, riding partner's camelbak, and sweat from your socks all flat after the climb... DO NOT take your beginner, takkie wearing roadie friends up there unless they're prepared to walk most of it... Its definitely an intermediate and up skill level section. DO go up and walk it once to see what it's about and to give you a goal to aspire to in terms of where you need your riding to be to enjoy the absolute most fun you can have on a bicycle. i gaurantee a HUGE, uncontrollable grin when youve successfully ridden it from top to bottom. Yafta is totally rideable, the small sharp climb shortly after you enter it is not a compulsory portage. I'm by no means the strongest 'athlete' when it comes to climbing, but i've made it up all 3 times i've ridden it. Abraham is the 2nd best piece of trail i've ever ridden, giving you awesome forest downhills and twisty flowing singletrack. I'm Rietvei's biggest fan, but i can honestly say, in terms of a challenging trail, Thaba cant be beaten. And that's in it's current form. Wendell n the guys are continually improving and adding and creating what's going be the SICKEST trail in JHB...
  19. Wendell Bole is the chap who owns the Cycle Hub shop at the farm. One of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Him n his team build and maintain the trails on a daily basis and are always adding in new stuff. The night rides are awesome, just dress warm now that winter's here...
  20. Ya but who want's an X5 with pieces of 2 roadies stuck in the grille...?
  21. Santa Cruz Superlight, end of story...
  22. I also recommend Evox's supplements, try the V4 creatine ethyl ester instead of the normal monohydrate stuff, it's the best i've used... Their Synergy whey protein is also very good if you're carb sensetive and want to restrict caloric intake in the evenings for instance... Their flavours are also more pallatable than other company's stuff...
  23. Ahh good to be back BigBen, off to mankele for the weekend tomorrow, can't wait to flatten that place. Hijack Off...
