  1. Do you want to elaborate on that? Who exactly are you referring too?
  2. my Giant XTC carbon 1 was stolen end last year. its the one with the lumo yellow in the frame. also have lumo yellow bottle cages. Probably long gone anyways.
  3. I think all bikes have some flex in their BB area. You will notice this especially when fixed to a trainer. However, i do think the chinese frames might have even more.
  4. I have had endless problems with my chinese back wheel (50mm deep sections). It was also bought in December with the frame. I have had to pull out of 5 races already because of it. The spokes keep on braking (it breaks where it enters the hub). Have taken it to 2 bike shops to realine, fix and recamber the wheels. Still not sure why it happens. Have also replaced the non-drive side spokes with round spokes (in stead of the bladed spokes it came with). This helped a little bit. A friend of mine also bought a set. he had just as much issues with his (he broke the nipples every time). And yes, they definatily are not that stiff. I personally won't buy chinese again. Racing elites, you need something alot more solid.
  5. Has anyone experienced more flex in their frames over time? I have a FM099 that I build in December last year. For the last month i have experienced a massive increase in flex in the head tube. If I fix the back wheels to my trainer i can litterally move the frame from side to side. Is this normal?
  6. did you report to the police? glad ur safe.
  7. winstrol & anavar are oral steriods (used for bodybuilding) and under the list of banned sustances in cycling. so i would suggest that you stay away from them and use normal energy drinks (USN, Cadence, etc)
  8. The 80km mtb race is an awesome route. The worst however is the first 2 climbs. The first climb being right at the start starting after only about 5km (but it's on tar and steep), then a nice long and cold decent and then when you least expect it, bam, one heavy, steep, long climb. From there is is beautiful. Climbs all being steady and with good surfaces. Probably the best race route i've ridden.
  9. My absolute favourate is Angels (for a harder & longer workout i do 5x8min climbs). For more race-like situations, i prefer Downward Spiral (mix of longer and shorter intervals). Busy downloading ISLAGIATT now. I'm addicted to these videos and look forward to jumping on the IDT each session.
  10. If you can give good bottomless coffee like Java cafe at a good price, then you will always attract cyclist. and having good looking students (female) walk by will DEFINATELY help.
  11. Thanks Lone One
  12. Well, i wouldn't have posted it on this thread if it was real. im not gona go around and announce that its a fake but if i'm asked, i'm also not going to lie about it. Regarding the Ultegra, if you willing to donate a Sram Red or Di2, then i'm happy to except it. Unfortunately, ultegra is all I could afford at the moment. But I like it and it works for me.
  13. I finished building my FM099 at the beginning of december, just in time for base. Its been an absolute joy. Love every minute on it. It weights 8kg with shimano ultegra 6700 (not the lightest but VERY aerodynamic). Ordered the frame and wheels through a friend of mine (not sure where exactly he gets it from).
  14. The waiting is killing me. I want to order my frame and wheels, but I don't get any response from cyclingyong.
  15. Thanks Meezo. Will send them a mail.
  16. Hi guys, i am in the process of buying some chinese goodies (will click the buy button by the end of this week). I am looking for the FM099 frame and some carbon deep sections. the only place so far that i have found for the FM099 frame is AliExpress. the price on the frame is $680 incl shipping (via EMS). the wheels are $525 (free shipping). would anyone else like to order something? and how are AliExpress? Are they reliable?
  17. but i have to say, i like them a little less (only a small bit) because i didn't win the bike on monday
  18. i too, only have good things to say about Evobikes. always a pleasure to deal with.
  19. I recently had the displeasure of having to deal with the bullsh*t called DHL. I had to send shoes I bought in the US back for a replacement (wrong size). DHL was the cheapest at R1600 for a shoe box of 1.5kg. Anyways, I was not sure about a box i had to tick, permanent, refund etc (it makes a lot of sense now). I spoke to the woman at DHL on the phone and told her that i did not mark that section. She told me no worries, she will mark it as return. this means no paying taxes again when the shoes came back. Long story short, when the shoes came back customs wanted duties & taxes on the $450 shoes again because the woman filled the form as permanent. So customs thought it was a new purchase. Of course that same woman now don't remember anything about our phone call. After long talks with customs, they agreed to scratch the duties. But i still had to pay the R830 taxes. Very expensive experience with DHL
  20. No problem. I like bling so the shoes are as bling as I probably can get. And guess i won't get lost in the masses either.
  21. Unlike some people I see, i like to ride to the trails on my bike and not with my car. And seeing that I don't live right next to the mountains, i kinda have to use the road to get there.
  22. After having to wait months for the 2013 Sidi mtb shoes to be released, I finally got my new shoes. Was so worth the wait. Would have had to wait 2 more months for it to arrive in SA.
  23. bike and helmet looks unbelievably awesome. Great job
  24. a couple of years ago, i was attacked on the uphill there by cloetesville. 2 guys jumped in front of me and held a knife to my neck until i gave up my bike and cellphone. luckily a local saw everything and told the police who they were. ironically those exact 2 guys were released on bail 3 days before the incident for armed robery (even the police new them well). got my bike back but they "never" took my cellphone.
  25. go to 100percentpure.net they sell pure maltodextrin for R98 for a 2kg. very good product
