  1. Had a hard ride today, but my f#@? I'm unfit. Our riding group, a bunch of farmers, rode in the Waqu today, a farming area between Cathcart and Queenstown. We rode through the Bengoil game breeding farm, I was so busy looking for buffalo, that I didn't take any pics of the zebra, wildebeest, eland, hartebees, pigs and sable antelope. But the view was great from the top Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  2. My ex neighbour loved the death shake, he'd grab your fingers amd squeezed until you flinched, he was also missing his index finger so the squeeze was even more concentrated Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk

  5. R120 for 20km , think I'll give this a miss, that's just ripping the ring out.
  6. That's what they do for a living, hard work, and they should be paid more. SA gov are giving them living expense money, 15Can Dollars a day, not much, and "keeping the rest for when they come home". Sorry, given our gov's track record for theft, I'd also be unhappy. I've got a pair that I bought at the Grahamstown Fest, made by a bunch of hippies in the berg, some of the best warm winter shoes I've ever had, used them this weekend!!
  7. I knew that there was some phrase linked to it, but couldn't remember, left it to the hub to enlighten me, thanks

  12. Been riding here forever, and still finding new roads to ride. I'll organise a ride from Gubu or Stutt Country club via Funtrax
  13. Despite the wind yesterday, some things have to be done. There were motorbikes in my usual riding area in Stutt so I had to make alternative arrangements for a ride. Took the 22km uphill to Gubu Dam, a favourite trout fishing spot, in the 40 to 65kmph headwinds yesterday. Then to my short lived relief took off to the left into the mountain, where the steep hills started biting. Mt Kempf is a 1450m peak in the Amatola's, and the ride from the Kubusie river at 810m is a long drag of a climb, but the views were worth the ride On the steep pull up to the peak The Hogsback, Gaika's Kop and the Elandsberg Gubu Dam and Mt Kubusie Stutterheim And a panorama looking east
  14. I found this book today, so together with John Palmer's How to Brew, I need to get my act together and get building and then brewing.

  18. Reminds me of a story about one of our local farmers in the '80's. He was having hassles with a witch-doctor that was visiting his farm. One night he saw the "fella" sneaking onto his farm, so he went around and caught him, and "fetched him one or two". As he was leaving the witchdoctor, his comment as he was leaving " If you was any good, you'd have known I was coming".
  19. Same reason Psychics never win the lottery
  20. He'll only be eligible in a years time, then he'll be 37, hmm. Though I'd love to see him included in a test against England, and scoring a century off them, but cannot see it happening. Not with his comments on politics in SA cricket, and the quota situation.
