  1. It's an excellent hill for intervals, too. That first punch up from the kloof nek road junction, past the SANParks hon ranger building to the flat, then just past the Vida van, and a few more punchy climbs. It's a bit tougher on the beast, though.
  2. HAHAHA! My little one saw the mag this morning. Asked me all innocently "why is someone selling a magazine with someone NAKED on it!?"
  3. Goodness, those are some throwbacks! I have Sonic on my phone for my lightie.
  4. Yeah, I've seen one braaaping around the placeevery so often. LOVE that sound.
  5. Still one of the sexiest bikes ever made.
  6. Hmmmmmm. Just looking at that pic has me wondering why Duc are the ONLY ONES putting some of their electronics (accelerometers and inclinometers, and such) in the tailpiece (as seen from lhs of bike, front wheel facing left) cos there's no ways that they would have shaped their tailpiece with a fin down one side and then a cutout for the zorst that means imbalanced airflow, if it didn't make a difference in the data.
  7. This. I'd have set my pitbull (by the name of Taryn, bloody marvellous woman but my, can she coax the proper response out of a call centre agent / case manager / director and use it in precisely the right manner to /get things done/!) and that's why ppl like me (with names of ppl in Discovery who I've met and had multibeers with who can make the difference) exist.
  8. You mean this one? https://www.autosport.com/motogp/news/141213/new-srt-yamaha-motogp-team-reveals-livery
  9. at less than 1% of the total trail distance, it's nice but needed a lot more elsewhere, IMO. As was very nicely displayed when 6 riders went off to hospital on Friday's practice, 3 broken shoulders and 17 crashes on ONE section of the XCO course.
  10. Erm, he was reiterating my point about the skill park just being good for jumping. BUT! Yeah, he's right. They aren't technical enough for my liking, either. I'd like more of the XCO track type stuff and more rocks, slow techy descents and climbs etc. But then nobody listens, anyway. Transport Status Quo or Iron Monkey into Tygerberg somewhere, please. Suppose I'll just wait to be shot down as well... For what it's worth. I still enjoy TBMTB (Hoogies & Conters) but wish it had MORE than just an abundance of flow trails. Something our up and coming (and older) XCO competitors can use to skill up on, and rise to the top, instead of just the XCO track.
  11. Cos it's essentially a SKILL park. It's a collection of 3 small drops and a massive amount of jumps. When I want to practice jumping, yeah great. It's definitely fit for purpose, but Nixon's is closer to me so that gets used more. If there were rock gardens of various sizes & lengths, bigger drops than the largest one there, sections like "pick up sticks" in Coetzenburg etc, then it'd be a skillS park. But now... it's just a jump park.
  12. Always try to make tomorrow better than today. And damn, being able to eat again must feel good after that nausea. Good to hear that today was a good one. I know that they change, but hope that by the time you're out of it, the good outweighed the bad by a satisfactory margin. Keep strong, man. And - gain some weight!!
  13. What a post. Holy crap, Carlo. So that's what you were putting together and why it took so long Again, what a helluva ride. Top shelf, old man.
  14. Haha! I think we can agree that yours is a special case though, Cois. How's it goin, by the way?
  15. Completely different bike, and weighs as much as you put into it.
  16. Atypical - lead actor brilliantly portrays the high-functioning autistic kid who's going through all the problems that come with being in high school, family life, girls and so on. Excellent series. Nightflyers - Enjoying it so far, premise is pretty interesting and almost Event Horizon-y in the "sinister spaceship" vibe, but not. DIG the spiderbot. Want. Sex Education - was fantastic. Can't wait for season 2, which has been confirmed. Spartacus - First season was great, second not so much but it was always going to be a filler. 3rd season is going okay, but I find it not as binge-worthy as the first season. Almost finished with s3 though. Discovery - EXCELLENT, as s1 was. Wish they all dropped at teh same time, 'cos that's a seriously binge-worthy series. Sons of Anarchy - finally got around to it. It's going well so far. Enjoying it. Bad Blood - EXCELLENT series detailing the life of one of Canada's most notorious crime families, and its downfall.
  17. Yeah, Canfield has been a high pivot bike for ages.
  18. HAHA! One thing we can't argue is that a plant-based diet now is radically different to the plant-based diet that would have been present even 10,000 years ago. Rapid changes in development of agriculture, selective breeding and GM of grains, pulses and so on have resulted in a plant-based diet that is far more nutritious than the historic one.
  19. A multitude of factors. Multi-faceted incremental jumps in intelligence, tied to things LIFE fire and tools and cooked meat and and and
