  1. LOL. And the lack of terse, off the cuff response got you feeling a bit underwhelmed>?
  2. Yeah. Once. But still - in cuffs, and it really really didn't look as if he was resisting or fighting back, Riaan...
  3. Or this, and put the Nobby Nic at the back... http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/za/en/michelin-wild-grip-r-descent-mtb-tyre/rp-prod48156
  4. http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/za/en/maxxis-minion-dhf-front-mtb-tyre-single-ply/rp-prod5849
  5. Get that Truvativ stem you saw the other day, if it's still there. Otherwise - this... http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/za/en/da-bomb-floata-stem/rp-prod94727
  6. Personally, I reckon once they've got the cuffs on the oke, there shouldn't be any of that bar an arm-bar to "convince" him to come along... This is also the reason that many people are losing faith. But it's a fine line. Certainly the undressing and subsequent beating was not on at all... Disciplinaries indeed.
  7. SK - Those ones do have replaceable pins. SO yeah - they're good to go, mark... I was just unsure about the spindle compatability, being 9/16" and all that, but all modern bikes and cranks on MTB's and road bikes are that size. SWIIIIPE!!! Incl postage & duties, those will come to about R 350.
  8. With postage it comes to R 548 or so. Duties - add 15.4% to that and a clearance fee of approx R 30 if you use normal tracked postage and not DHL. So all in all - about R 625 or so.
  9. http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/za/en/nukeproof-electron-flat-pedals/rp-prod85858 More expensive than local options, but worth every penny...
  10. Everyone does at some point. He's a well published nutritionist wiff a medical degree and loads of personal and practical experience, who wants to help people. Why is it wrong for him to put it in book format, and get money from it? It's his profession, after all... Only reason he's getting so much attention out of this is due to the about-face that he's had after publishing the Lore of Running and backing the high carb diet that the majority of the scientific world USED to back when studies on the long term effects of a high carb diet were still in their infancy. Would you rather he stayed with his previous convictions, when we are hearing, all the more often, that those assertions that he held were based on bad nutritional science and studies done by other people? Remember - the scientific world held for the past 30 to 50 years that the high carb, low fat diet was a good thing, and that unsaturated fats were the good guy, animal fats the bad, and fat intake (as opposed to sugar intake) had a direct causal link to diabetes and heart disease? Not his fault that the studies were bad...
  11. I'll take you there if you need to... Business meeting and all that.
  12. Ergh. It's not his brand. Not his science. He just supports it because he's read and understands the studies associated with the diets, and how they affect the body in certain people.
  13. +1 on Full Throttle. Just bear in mind that MX helmets are a bit heavier than the MTB specific ones, and are built to different standards (more around high speed impact than lower speed impact due to the speeds involved, or so I understand) and they have less cooling vents than the MTB / DH ones.
  14. Some good looking options there though...
  15. Hate to tell you, Flowta - but they only have S & M in that glove. And I doubt your paws would fit in them...
  16. Again - did this actually happen, or is it another line of speculation? And no - throwing a sachet at a rider cannot be considered attempted murder. Otherwise thousands of Argus supporters would be in tjoekie every year. At most it would be an assault charge. But again - that is purely hypothetical. The evidence at hand is formed by: - Eyewitness Statement - Driver Statement - Video Evidence To date, no rider that was in the pack has come forward with a statement of events.
  17. Tubehunter, I think you (and most others here) were covered under "others" IE: Others argue that what happened before does not justify violence. While what happened before creates context it does not affect the unacceptable and unlawful nature of the act.
  18. Yeah, but then the veggies could have been non smokers. Or diabetic. Or previous cancer sufferers. There apparently just wasn't enough control in the study to render the results applicable.
  19. If you think about it for a second, the 2 are very very closely structured. Van may have passed earlier and gone in front of the guys for quite a distance, and then stopped to collect rubbish at the traffic lights, put his hazards on and therefore been double parked. The question you need to ask yourself is this though - would there be anything that the driver did that would have justified this rampant attack from the 20 cyclists?
  20. Agreed. But then I tend to ride alone or with one other person when on the road
  21. Erm, this study is being very highly discredited. Among other things, the effects of the following items were "excluded" fromt he study Obesity Smoking Cholestorol Count Blood Sugar Diabetes Essentially, it is flawed science... There wasn't a proper study of the effects of a changed diet, or comparing one diet against another, or anything. Heard TN on the radio yesterday...
