  1. Nice. I've got the predecessor to those - the Kyle Strait. Comfy and good for the job...
  2. Sounds like an okay price... I know the s works frames are quite pricey at the best of times as well... Also look at a giant xtc carbon. Very good value, very good frame (from what I've heard)
  3. That kzn one is Burry's home ground... He's often there hosting training rides and such, when he can.
  4. Sorry, here's the bike... http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n546/mylesmayhew2409/053550ae.jpg
  5. Few purchases so far... Brave Monster 760mm bar (mid rise) http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n546/mylesmayhew2409/f88e2883.jpg Kore B1B stem, 35mm 0deg rise http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n546/mylesmayhew2409/d7d6fca6.jpg XX 2011 brakeset (thanks V!) http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n546/mylesmayhew2409/6ba204b0.jpg 2010 RS Revelation Dual Air U Turn (120/150) - still need to collect... http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n546/mylesmayhew2409/d790a725.jpg here's the bike before the Revelation Thanks Tax Man!
  6. I saw that memo... Sad state of affairs that left them in the lurch. All because of the lack of qc at the manufacturing plant...
  7. I'm no authority on bmxes, but that wethepeople one looks pretty alright for 1k7. Offer him 1k5 maybe?
  8. It's actually dangerous, imho. It disorients the driver, rather than calling his attention to you. Yes, it makes the light more noticeable, but at the expense of the drivers' vision and spatial awareness. Just turn the light onto Strobe function and turn it around so that you are looking into it and you'll see why it's not only stupid, but dangerous to use on the road. Especially at night / low light situations.
  9. Rofl... Awesome. Btw... Good things from a certain green corporate. More on that later!
  10. No, dude, go for the XTC! Far better geo and a lekker bike! Slx is a perfect gruppo as well!
  11. 1pm, dude. Be there! I'm gonna have a ride beforehand, to test out the new goodies...
  12. Ah. I see you got added before I could add you. Good man.
  13. Tokai MTB trail Builders. Request to join, and I'll add you... Another one you may want to join is WP downhill. I can't add you to that one though...
  14. Dude, the white one also matches the lower crown. Also, you don't want a steeper HA. Unless you're with Carmen, that is... KEEP IT!
  15. Dude, where are you going? That's right. Morzine. MOR-fkn-ZINE, bro. The land of descent. The land of 45% descents and chair-lifts. The world where you want ABSOLUTE confidence in your setup, and don't feel as if you're getting a bit sketchy and may fall over the bars. Does that spell it out for you? Go for the High-Rize. The Slum-Stem. The Project Special. The SkyScraper Solution. High Stack. Plus, you've got zero rise (10mm doesn't count as more than nothing) on your bars. So you need that elevator to the stars, dude. Otherwise you'll come smack down back to earth 'cos you're not used to the setup. And - on those long, long days where you ride 70-80km in one shot (yes, ask Oh Mega Man - he did ride that Every Day) you want the extra comfort. And at 1.87m tall, I guess you're a gangly bugger. And you need your bars to come up and reach to you, not the other way around. Highstack.
  16. I think it's aimed at either XCO or aggressive trail. If I had the dosh, and I was looking for a new gruppo, I'd get it in a heartbeat. Appeals to me. It basically gives you pretty much all the ratios you need for AM / Trail riding whilst maximizing ground clearance at the BB, and maximizing space on the bars.
  17. With this, it depends on what you ride. For example, I hardly ever run out of gears on my hardtail, but then I mostly ride singletrack and tight technical stuff where rapid acceleration is the key, and you hardly ever get all out top end speed on the trail. For me, the 32 I have at the moment works beautifully, and I find the 32-11 to be a bit too hard in terms of gearing when I want to get out and pedal out of a corner or into a transition etc. For general dirt roadie type riding though, I know what you mean. I'd probably change to a 36 in that case, as the snappy acceleration isn't that much of a need versus the top end speed and higher ground clearance that you have with a 32. But horses for courses, as they say. And yes - you cannot get by without a guide. I'm actually going to make one myself out of some plexiglass sometime. Really easy things to put together, they are...
