Despite the fact that there is a sign that says pedestrians aren't allowed on that stretch, I don't have a problem with people running along there (I do it to very occasionally). However if you are running two or three abreast forcing riders into the traffic lane, you're a C#*T! There is space for everyone, runners/cyclists/cars, if everyone would just be lekker!

Speak to Cyclesure for a quote. You can insure the bike for an agreed value (if the bike is more than 3 years old) rather than replacement value, but be aware that the value is applicable in a case of total loss (eg theft), but the value will be broken down per component for partial loss (eg bike value R20k, limit will be R8k for frame, R2k Fork, R4k wheels, R6k rest of the components).

But if the US were allocated 5 places instead of 3... would they still have only taken 3 of those 12?

If the riders are 100% funding it themselves, why are CSA being gatekeepers and denying the riders the opportunity to go when the spots are available. It's bull****! CSA not adding any value.

If the bike is older than 3 or 4 years you can come to an agreed value if you use Cyclesure. But until it’s that old, you have to insure for equivalent current replacement value.

Really enjoying using indieVelo, but I'm finding that it drains the battery of my iPad (7th gen) really quickly. Is it just me or does anyone else experience the same? The iPad battery generally lasts really well so it feels like indieVelo could just be power intensive. By way of example, this morning I started at 40-50% battery, turned the brightness down in an attempt to make it last and it still died after an hour (no screen mirroring, just connected to Kickr and Polar H10 HR strap).

It doesn't add up hey! Same when you compare a Japanese/Austrian motocross bike to a mtb, but let's not keep flogging that dead horse🙈

Somewhat on that topic... I wonder if the construction of the new road/bridge at the new Amazon building will offer a better alternative to running the gauntlet on the N1 to Lower Church St? You would have to negotiate the Koeberg interchange which could be swapping one evil for another, but perhaps reduce the risk of being robbed? Something like this map below, turning off Marine Dr into Section street through Paarden Eiland, crossing Voortrekker Rd and going under the M5 onto the new bridge past Amazon. The detour isn't too much of an extended detour.

BECAUSE YOU CAN SEE THE AD AND IT ISN'T MARKED AS SOLD!!! Yes there will be the exception where someone sells something and forgets to mark it as sold, but let's operate on status quo, not exception. Also, if they're not interested, why did they waste your time by saying is it available to start with? It grinds my gears! Rant off.

Re: route and marking... share the GPX file of the route before or even on the morning of the event (easily done with a QR code) so that people don't have the excuse of "poor marking". Most people have the tech these days, why not embrace it.
