  1. Can anyone recommend a cheap device that supports / comes with a heart rate strap, not wrist-based, HR that can link to discovery? I've read a lot about wrist-based not working well for mountain biking, especially when HR is 180+ I'd be looking in the range < R2000 if possible. I have cycle computers already that give me the rest.
  2. I present to you the Nana Hammock, in all its glory: Link here.
  3. I think Bicycle Power (who replied earlier in this thread) are still the distributors. Not sure.
  4. Some awesome pics here. They likely won't read this, but keep up the great work guys!
  5. Any word on how the points will be allocated?
  6. Finally got in today. Thanks for the fix guys!
  7. I'm also still getting the issue Also using the correct email address, I promise!
  8. I love the Barzo, I've just ordered another one. But for your purposes, I think it will be a bit overkill. Its a moderate aggressive tire, more for marathon mtb and trail riding. Will be fine on tar etc, but the Crossmark is perfect for that purpose, if a bit heavy.
  9. Cool, thanks Deon. Huge ups for all the hard work you guys have put in!
  10. Since Tokai is still closed, is the link between Lower Tokai / the greenbelts and Silvermine not functional?
  11. It is 2 days, not 1. The route is on a completely other level to most other one-day races - somewhat technical and gorgeous. You get a great lunch after both days. And a few nice things in the goodie bag.
  12. Of all dynamic drag produced by the bike (friction etc.), what contribution is from the rear derailleur? What fraction does the rear derailleur add? Surely halving rear derailleur drag does a lot less than 1.5 to 2.5 watts? That's in the region of the gain an aero helmet provides over a standard helmet. I'm a bit sceptical of that claim, gotta say.
  13. Its incredible how much carbohydrates the body needs and can use during intense exercise! 60-90 grams per hour, sjo. I've been under-consuming during most of my races. Explains a lot
  14. Got mine Sjo, it is a bit steep this year. What did it cost last year?
  15. R1000 to R1250 per day per person, for us non-students / alumni? Woah, that's a bit steep. I would have loved to represent UCT alumni, but I can't at that price, unfortunately. Out of my price range. This is quite a bit more expensive that Origin of Trails, and that is absolutely Epic.
  16. Last Years event: 75.3 km 1872 m climbing
  17. This is really great. Bringing in the experience to mix with the promising youngsters, and let the passion rub off. Big ups to the Kargo Pro Team!
  18. I think Swift had this model in their catalogue before Rockshox ever announced their RS-1
  19. Seems they don't even look at if you hit the goals. I don't have a compatible HRM at the moment, so I've only got gym workouts to add. I recently joined, so my points started at 100 a month ago. My goal has increased by nearly 100 points a week. I last hit the 200 goal two weeks ago, then missed my 200 goal last week, but still my goal was increased to 300. Why? I have no idea. If I had a HRM, I'd be fine to hit 1000 or so points a week, but I now have to consider buying a Garmin or something This isn't for smoothies or coffees for me, this is to get the last 25% of my gym membership back, so that does matter for me.
