not sure it's a good idea to be riding up there if it is obvious that they are trying to close the main access point off. Just because you know a back way in (we all do) doesn't mean you should. From a goodwill point of view, the last thing we as mtbikers need is to give Sanparks a reason to close the trail permanently. We are already not their favourite species.

Put this on the 'Where has your bike taken you' thread the other day, but it belongs here. Groot Winterhoek. Took my 12 year old son along. 32km over 2 days and not a single complaint. He even insisted on carrying the heavy back-pack the whole of the last day. Really lekker to share this type of experience with your kids.

there's something worse than riding past an oke with stale sweat smelling clothing. Riding past an oke who smells like he fell into a pool of eau de cologne. Jeez that smell gets into the back of your throat and sticks there. Never understood why people bath in perfume before a sweaty ride.

maybe the question should have been - did you finance your Merc, BMW, Land Rover, Jag? Those are not necessities yet people finance them all the time. A house is a different class of purchase. Shouldn't be mentioned in the same context as cars, bikes, holidays, etc.

Some advice needed from you clever woodworkers. I am in the process of replacing the old steel window frames in my place with nice new wooden ones - nice chunky profile 92mm x 60mm. I want to do architraves around the frames and feel like tackling the project myself. Any good Youtube channels I can search for videos of how to do this? Also essential equipment? Mitre Saw? Anyone in Cape Town want some decent windows / doors made by an old Italian family who do things properly I can recommend Colatruglio and Sons in Durbanville. Absolute quality.
