  1. Some handy new things to print...
  2. I can also recommend the 70cc OneUp. It is expensive but it is really well made and super handy to store a tool or CO2 cartridge inside. https://trailtechcycles.co.za/collections/tools/products/oneup-edc-pump-70cc-pump-only
  3. Chances are very slim that you have tubular tires (the ones glued on), the bead might just be stubborn. Perhaps post a photo of the wheel (with valve) in question? The valve could have torn from the tube or it has a puncture and air is escaping through the easiest place.
  4. Ouch! I broke the chainstay on my 2014 Rocky Mountain Instinct and luckily they still had stock available. If I'm not mistaken as Stumpjumper swingarm could also work for your Camber.
  5. I think most people (myself included) are spoiled with GPS's and struggle to remember/interpret maps. Trailforks works quite well but I think a QR code or something similar at the trailhead would make life a lot easier for the average user. Some comments on the pictures: 1. Satellite maps works well as you can easily orientate yourself in the area. 2. Simplified maps is nice but adding contour lines could make it a bit easier to orientate yourself in the area. 3. Metro maps works well if you want to plan a ride but routes should be marked well.
  6. Just recently upgraded from a Fenix 3 HR to a 6X Pro and really happy thusfar. I'll probably wait till the 8 or 9 comes around to upgrade again...
  7. Thanks @EasyBike. Ideally I would like a 6X Sapphire but they are super expensive...
  8. Any Fenix 6's planned for the sale?
  9. I've got access to a 3D printer at work and use it quite a lot. I've printed some bearing drivers for my hubs, a Shimano pedal tool (which doesn't work too great) and a GoPro housing for a friend. Really handy things too have around.
  10. Some really nice reviews and guides on Bikepacking.com (https://bikepacking.com/). Although some (most) of these items is not available locally its still an interesting read.
  11. I agree, super annoying. At least you don't have to enter your credit card details for a "free trial".
  12. I also tried buying tires locally for my Krampus and ended buying WTB Ranger TCS Tough 29x3's from Bike24 a while back. This compariative review might also be a good start. https://bikepacking.com/gear/29-tires-list/ I wouldn't mind Maxxis Chronicles...
  13. @Vetseun, try Bike24. They are based in Germany so shipping might be cheaper and easier. The bars they have in stock doesn't look like the ones you are looking for but it might be worthwhile contacting them. https://www.bike24.com/p2114093.html
  14. Maybe give the guys at Sprocket and Jack a call before you order online, I bought some Surly tires from them previously. http://sprocketandjack.co.za/
  15. Apparently Germans trust/use their Postal system a lot more than we do. One of friends moved over there and they mailed him a OTP to register on his medica aid app, granted he did have the OTP within 24 hours.
  16. Except now companies like Niner is putting front and rear suspension on them as well. It really feels like we are going around in circles. https://ninerbikes.com/products/mcr-9-rdo Sorry for derailing (pun intended) the original thread, I cant see non-indexed shifters making a big comeback for mainstream bikes soon.
  17. It happens in other sports as well. https://www.runnersworld.com/races-places/a20851430/runner-says-4-others-bandited-with-her-number-at-boston/
  18. Any recommendations for a tool roll? I want to take some bike tools along when I go away for a weekend but not necessarily take along a whole toolbox.
  19. As per previous years, really nice event and a a proper day out. The changes to the 45 km route was really good and I'll be back again. Hopefully we can camp at Mouton farm underneath those Oak trees next to the dam one day without having to do The U.
  20. I use Avenza Maps quite a bit for hiking. You can import GPX files and download good South African topo maps for free.
  21. A Guerilla Gravity Trail Pistol frame could be an option as well, framesets seems to cost around R40k but I wonder how much shipping etc. will add. https://ridegg.com/products/trailpistol?option=Frameset+%26+Custom
  22. I went from a 130 mm Fox 32 to a 140 mm PIke on my 29er and the difference in fork stiffness was very noticeable, especially on braking bumps etc. I am on the heavier side so this obviously has an influence.
  23. Pyga Hyrax for the win! If it's SA built you are pretty much only looking at Mercer and Pyga, all the other bikes have local roots (FARR and Silverback as well) but they are built oversees. Morewood and Produx was also built locally.
  24. Something like that (even just a floorpump) would be handy at most trailcenter parkings.
