  1. This is probably a bit easier way to do it... https://www.lockheedmartin.com/en-us/products/sikorsky-firehawk.html Massive respect to those pilots, I thinks it’s difficult enough flying a helicopter without smoke, heat and a 4000 kg pendulum hanging below.
  2. It was just a matter of TIME before SRAM ventured into the pedal market...
  3. Highlands Road could possibly work for you. It starts just after Peregrine Farm Stall (be sure to grab a pie and apple juice) and goes al the way to the R44 close to Arabella. It's a public road and some of it is gravel.
  4. My suggestion would be start with a proper Jonkershoek ride and then go explore some of the other trails in our area. 1. Climb up with Irish, come down with Armageddon. 2. Take a left once you get to the bottom of Armageddon and ride the Circle Route to Bosluis, ride up Bosluis and hook a left to go up to the firehut, continue on the fireroad and take the first left to go up to Firehut to ride back down from there. 3. If you still have some legs left, climb back up with Irish, take a right when you get to the contour road and head up to the start of Red Phoenix to ride back down from there.
  5. Really nice look and some inspiration. I might need to do the same, the replacement frame I received has really crap paint that will need to be removed.
  6. That looks like Eselsfontein.
  7. Eks nogals opgewonde en hoop dis 'n lekker tydskrif. Sal verseker loer op die rakke en koop. Laat weet maar waar/hoe ons bietjie stories kan deel.
  8. Is that a "Muishond" I spot...
  9. Reviving an old thread, what is the rear axle spacing on these bikes?
  10. I couldn’t sleep the firts night I had my new machine, all that tasting is a lot of caffeine.
  11. I had my Kona frame welded with a plate to enforce it up a few years back, luckily the agents/Kona was willing to let me do this while I waited for a replacement frame. The toptube had a crack and it was quite a sketchy ride back home after the initial crack.
  12. I got an old Russel Hobbs Espresso machine from my dad and intend to use it at work. Any tips on getting the most out of it? Should I "temperature surf" it like my Silvia?
  13. I’m looking at these upgrades and I’m wondering what would make me consider upgrading my Fenix 3 HR. Mobile payments is already available and could be very handy but I’ll seriously consider upgrading once they include InReach (or possibly cellular capabilities). That would make it really good in case of emergencies.
  14. Yeti SB115 and Transition Spur is out today and possibly even more Evo than the Evo.
  15. So I pay close to R1500 and don't exactly know what I'm getting? Is there some form of questionnaire that you at least know what items the person already has or needs? One only needs so many pumps, multi tools, water bottle cages or pairs of socks, unless its really something special.
  16. Your local Bearing Man could be a good place to start. RS Components would also stock most of the items you want but they can be quite expensive.
  17. I agree, this design is really good. There is definitely a touch of Enduro in there as well. I think the next Stumpjumper would be a sweet bike if it follows this same pattern. It might be around sooner rather than later as they are also currently on sale.
  18. The Epic seems to be the bread-and-butter model for Specialized (maybe Levo sales are catching up), I think/hope cheaper aluminium models will be along soon enough. Aluminium Evo's could sell really well if they are priced right.
  19. It would be interesting to see how the new/next Camber/Stumpjumper ST compares to the Epic Evo. I like these new trail/XC bikes and think they are a better buy for the average Joe than a pure XC bike. Any chances of having a group test/comparison on all the options available?
  20. Thanks, it seems like a worthy upgrade but part of me is wondering if I shouldn't just save that money for the next bike.
  21. Sorry if I'm hijacking this thread... How much does these Debonair and Charger 2/2.1 upgrades cost? I have a 140 mm 2014 non-boost Pike RCT3 and I'm wondering if it is worth it.
  22. If we can’t comment on adverts can we at least get some proper technical content for all the armchair experts to disagree with? A few articles on geometry, chain wear (or stretch), suspension designs. etc. would be super. If these articles were to be published on a Friday morning it would be even better.
  23. Not really Bela-Bela but Lindani has some proper trails and is sort of in the area. http://lindani.co.za/offerings/mountain-biking/
  24. Seems odd, do you have to specify it is bike parts? They ship parcels so I can’t see why they would worry about contents except if it is hazardous, illegal or dangerous goods.
  25. I'm also trying to figure it out, looks like it is a "normal" dropout on the non-drive side. You would then be able to remove the wheel with thru-axle in place once the thread is out of the other side.
