  1. I’m looking at these upgrades and I’m wondering what would make me consider upgrading my Fenix 3 HR. Mobile payments is already available and could be very handy but I’ll seriously consider upgrading once they include InReach (or possibly cellular capabilities). That would make it really good in case of emergencies.
  2. Really handy that manufacturers make guides like this, One-Up has a similar one on their website. I thinks something like the SRAM Universal Derailleur Hanger is a step in the right direction, it has M12x1 thread and the idea is to be compatible across a number of bikes.
  3. This could also be an option if you want an MTB riding jersey. https://www.specialized.com/za/en/mens-enduro-drirelease-merino-3-4-jersey/p/161533?color=246840-161533 It looks like they have a long sleeve as well but only in Medium for some reason.
  4. Looks like you guys are in luck! This post seems to suggest the next generation Spark would be able to carry two jerry cans! Obviously just a bad translation. https://www.brujulabike.com/scott-spark-2021-en/
  5. Seeing that Hooligan reminded me of this photo way back in MBA and obviously had me looking for it for the last few hours... Interesting that plus tires (19"x3") and 29'ers both appeared around the same time.
  6. No real change but I'll get there, riding a bit more and building trail should hopefully help.
  7. Yeti SB115 and Transition Spur is out today and possibly even more Evo than the Evo.
  8. So I pay close to R1500 and don't exactly know what I'm getting? Is there some form of questionnaire that you at least know what items the person already has or needs? One only needs so many pumps, multi tools, water bottle cages or pairs of socks, unless its really something special.
  9. Your local Bearing Man could be a good place to start. RS Components would also stock most of the items you want but they can be quite expensive.
  10. I'm sure they would appreciate a call 22:00 at night when I'm doing "research", how difficult can it be to stop redirecting us to a blank website. I'm not necessarily in the market for a YT but this doesn't really inspire confidence in their operation. This doesn't inspire confidence for their operation.
  11. I agree, this design is really good. There is definitely a touch of Enduro in there as well. I think the next Stumpjumper would be a sweet bike if it follows this same pattern. It might be around sooner rather than later as they are also currently on sale.
  12. The Epic seems to be the bread-and-butter model for Specialized (maybe Levo sales are catching up), I think/hope cheaper aluminium models will be along soon enough. Aluminium Evo's could sell really well if they are priced right.
  13. It would be interesting to see how the new/next Camber/Stumpjumper ST compares to the Epic Evo. I like these new trail/XC bikes and think they are a better buy for the average Joe than a pure XC bike. Any chances of having a group test/comparison on all the options available?
  14. I'm really happy with my Instinct and it's bad that Rocky Mountain didn't make it locally. When I was in British Columbia last year, Rocky Mountains was one of the most popular bikes around (obviously because they are based over there).
  15. I’ve been really happy with Maxxis and can’t see myself buying something else soon. I run a Minion DHF on the front and a Aggressor at the rear. Both of them is 2.3’s but are far from fast rolling.
  16. Thanks, it seems like a worthy upgrade but part of me is wondering if I shouldn't just save that money for the next bike.
  17. Sorry if I'm hijacking this thread... How much does these Debonair and Charger 2/2.1 upgrades cost? I have a 140 mm 2014 non-boost Pike RCT3 and I'm wondering if it is worth it.
  18. If we can’t comment on adverts can we at least get some proper technical content for all the armchair experts to disagree with? A few articles on geometry, chain wear (or stretch), suspension designs. etc. would be super. If these articles were to be published on a Friday morning it would be even better.
  19. TrailTech had something similar from OneUp. https://trailtechcycles.co.za/collections/oneup-components/products/oneup-components-edc-gear-straps CycleTouring also sells Volie straps. https://www.cycletouring.co.za/product/cycletouring-voile-straps/
  20. Not really Bela-Bela but Lindani has some proper trails and is sort of in the area. http://lindani.co.za/offerings/mountain-biking/
  21. I don't think Calculus bikes does any actual local manufacturing, your best bet might be Mercer. Edit: As I was busy posting the other Mercer suggestions came through.
  22. I can’t see any of those stage races (or any races) starting back up soon. The demographic that would most likely buy these saddles might start opting for “game reserve fence patrolling” rides though. We love to hate “the dentists” of the world but they do little harm to the majority of us. It’s just a pity they don’t really buy bikes we would like to buy secondhand a few years later.
  23. I’m struggling to Install Zwift on my Macbook Pro, the installation runs into an error towards the end. Any advice? I’ll try again maybe over the weekend, it works on my iPad so no big rush.
  24. Seems odd, do you have to specify it is bike parts? They ship parcels so I can’t see why they would worry about contents except if it is hazardous, illegal or dangerous goods.
  25. I'm also trying to figure it out, looks like it is a "normal" dropout on the non-drive side. You would then be able to remove the wheel with thru-axle in place once the thread is out of the other side.
