  1. Is today the day that the new Scalpel is officially launched? The #newcuttingedge advert seems to suggest something at Cannondale is happening at 3pm. https://bikerumor.com/2020/02/18/spy-shot-next-generation-cannondale-scalpel-spotted-at-momentum-health-tankwa-trek/
  2. I collected my Kickr Core on Saturday, it might have been in stock at CWC when the lockdown started.
  3. Collected my IDT today so I can also confirm CWC does not disappoint. Now to wait for crap weather so I want to ride it...
  4. I'm with you on the hardcore hardtail but that build is maybe a bit "too much" for for that type of bike. Personally I wouldn't go much higher that XT/GX for a bike like that, but that is just me. And a steel frame as well, something like Stanton or Cotic.
  5. Start the “Coffin Dance” song.
  6. Haha. It does seem like more aggressive gravel bikes is essentially becoming "normal" hardtails, this is probably even more weird. https://ninerbikes.com/products/mcr-9-rdo I do think that Diverge EVO would make an amazing commuter.
  7. I read somewhere the hubs run on sealed bearings? Is this the end of cup-and-cone for Shimano?
  8. Hi This is a bit of a stretch for your budget but it looks like a really great deal. https://www.specialized.com/za/en/ruze-expert-6fattie/p/107252?color=195449-107252
  9. They didn’t give specific details on the orders so I assume they just made a mistake when they tried to personalise their generic email.
  10. I have Nico's letter if he wants it!
  11. SunRingle is one of the well known brands out there but you might need to be a bit more specific with regards to your bike.
  12. I did get a quick response by using "Contact us" on the website. I think most stores are swamped with emails for issues that is normally just resolved via phone calls or walk-in. It does seem like there is a bit more normality today and more stores/companies is opening up again. R400 to courier my Kick Core once it is legal to do so...
  13. Thanks, I'll have to keep waiting till logic starts prevailing again. It's a pity that law-abiding businesses are suffering and those willing to "bend the rules" start operating.
  14. Any other way to contact CWC? I sent out an email last Tuesday and I'm still waiting for a response.
  15. That looks interesting, please post some more pictures or have someone post "spy-shots" on your behalf.
  16. Hi Could something like this work? https://www.on-lynecomponents.com/collections/the-holy-rail/products/holy-rail-strap Lyne suggests that you mount a holy rail and then your bottle. Stupid question/solution, how often do you intend to remove the bottle cage? It's quite wastefull but cable ties could perhaps work...
  17. Is it really going to be R100k for a frame? I’m considering a Hyrax, 140mm bike is a bit more for me.
  18. Wow, really good prices on those forks! I'm tempted but I can't really justify upgrading my current Pike given all the uncertainty around.
  19. How much was delivery? I opted to go collect but I might need to get it delivered.
  20. That Magene is more expensive than the Kick Core in the DC Rainmaker review and it would have less support in a place like South Africa. Why would you buy it then? Sort of off topic but somewhat related. Chinese products (eg. cars) are becoming better and more expensive. It used to be cheaper option but I think most consumers would still rather pay a 5-10% premium for a more well known brand than a newer Chinese or even Indian one. It will be interesting to see what long term effects of this virus has on manufacturing as it sounds like lots of countries/companies are trying to bring back manufacturing.
  21. Hi Where are you located? Apparently Magnatech 5W30 can also work. Drop Stoke a PM, Andrew can usually give some advice.
  22. Almost that time again. Lockdown without a trainer/Zwift and constant snacks makes life quite difficult.
  23. Really glad I bought a Kickr Core on sale during the lockdown but hope I can pick it up soon. I’ll have to see if I “enjoy” it but I suppose it will come in handy on those cold/wet winter days.
  24. One of the reasons suppose. People also have more disposable income and the logistics centers can focus on essential items.
  25. Looks like the prices for most of the "new stock" has increased quite a lot due to the exchange ratesssss.
