  1. Just pulled the plug. Was hoping for my 3rd in a row as well as the 10th instalment but things just didn't work out. Will be back next year though.
  2. I missed all these posts but I did land up at all these places coincidentally. I tried a few places (espressos); Rosetta, Origin, Truth, EspressoLab and some others along the way (Haas and Knead in Muizenberg.) Rosetta was my favourite with their El Zapote bean, I also enjoyed the rather different Knot Yirgacheffe bean which was very intriguing with its Earl Grey-like scent. Second was EspressoLab. My taste has now shifted to the lighter "fruitier" roasts. Truth and Origin weren't bad (Truth the better of the two) but not quite to my liking. Although I did enjoy the single origin aeropress at Origin. The Honest chocolate was also pretty good, especially that chocolate coconut ganache that they make.
  3. This is the key. With GPS turned off it relies on the sensors only.
  4. I'm off to Cape Town this weekend, which shops are worth the visit? Much appreciated.
  5. Maybe this was more about giving Phil the best possible partner for him to do the best he could and not the other way around as every one thinks?

  7. Not sure on price but the Saeco/Philips Syntia isn't bad.

  9. What do you expect? The sponsor pays the rider to represent and market their brand and that is what they do. You can't go around biting the hand that feeds you by saying your sponsor/employer offers an inferior product. Not attacking you but that was a really silly comment. Edit in Italic
  10. It is a scam. Rather funny that you can tell that the info is from a Canadian bike review. "While Cannondale mountain bikes may not be a common sight here in BC" Maybe the scammer thinks that BC means "Business Central", must be the same thing as Joburg CBD.
  11. Please pour the milk in first with the flat teaspoon of Frisco? Don't forget the few granules of salt to really "enhance" the "coffee" flavour.
  12. I meant a "How to kill Zombies" guide.
  13. Sounds like the making of a "How to..." guide.
  14. As you know, Lurpak is far more expensive in comparison to normal butter, even more than Kerrygold. Prices vary so much between stores that I'm always curious as to where the best deal is. Provided it isn't out of my way.
  15. I'm not the biggest fan of "normal" salted butter, the taste isn't anywhere near that of Kerrygold. I do use the Woolies brand for cooking though.
  16. Have any of you seen the price of Kerrygold butter recently? I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw R74,00. I'm sure that I was paying around R52,00 last year per 500g. What is the cheapest store where you have found butter recently?
  17. Dental floss and long nose pliers, I'm not sure whose worse off.
  18. In Gauteng, there is also a guy by the name of Rudi from Kicker Paints in Centurion. Really awesome work. You can also take a bike to him for carbon repairs.
  19. Maybe not a lack in quality but consistency? I bought 250g Kenyan beans from the Dullstroom store when the MTN race was there in Feb. Long story short, I enjoyed it and bought 1kg on my way back from MTN Sabie. The second purchase was a far darker roast than the first (oily texture when the first was dry), it didn't taste nearly the same nor have the same amount of crema once extracted. So I assume that it wasn't fresh either.
  20. A little on the skinny side, rather this one. http://media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/c4/a7/67/c4a767538a3d7c77dc651181f9ff8f53.jpg edit: sp
  21. Believe Craig Howes did the edit.
  22. While on the TV theme, The Walking Dead. Jamie N Commons Lee Dewyze
  23. Rocky Mountain. From the frames I have seen, both dual suss and HTs, the RM frames seem to have more finesse. They are also prettier in my opinion.
  24. As a side note, Dr. Valter Longo is the man behind this questionnaire study. The summary of the study states "These associations were either abolished or attenuated if the proteins were plant derived." - http://www.cell.com/...4131(14)00062-X He is the founder and on the scientific board of advisers for a company called L-Nutra. What does L-Nutra do? They produce diet supplements, one of which (ProLon) is solely plant-based. http://www.l-nutra.c....php/about/team http://www.l-nutra.c...products/prolon Yes it is very conspiracy theorist of me but surely there must be a conflict of interest. It can't be purely coincidental that the man is punting plant based proteins over animal... Here is a good read by Zoe Harcombe in reply to the study, http://www.zoeharcom...bad-as-smoking/
