I had an iPhone X with a 920xt works fine, have u updated the software on the garmin 920 via express? Once that’s done pair the watch and the phone via the setting Bluetooth, open the app and hit the more at the bottom and select garmin devices, click on the add device and follow the steps in the wizard, enjoy.

The bike should work fine, see it done on single speed already, you can look at changing the rims that may lighten it up. I’m sure for that money u can get a momsen that will be around the 11.5kg mark.

I had an old SL same as the RC, great frame, was light could flick it round easy, u clearly stated u wanna keep the rubber on the ground and ur a slower rider, get the stock RC u gonna love it. No need for a new fork or dropper for XC riding. I wouldn’t trade and RC for a 920.

I would agree with you and extend that "rat race" events have no appeal to me, when you on the starting line with thousands i think that MTB event lose some magic of being out in the wide open spaces.

burst for me 2 years ago, just wanna ride with mates now. the effort of getting there and back for some events took longer than the event itself.

would be good to have another option.
