  2. Hi Guys Any ideas how to stop a spare tube from getting damaged/perished inside my saddle bag? I have been "let down" (excuse the pun) on two occasions by a spare tube that has got damage/perished in my saddle bag. The later tube has only been in there about 4 months??
  3. well, Why not put tools in your pockets (I use an old sun glasses pouch for this) then one bottle on your bike, and then two more on one of those tri mount behind the seat things? Just an idea, however I would worry about loosing the bottles, and I would imagine that by the time you get to the 3rd bottle its probably gonna be piss warm!!!!
  4. lol, sorry, but seriously I had the same issue, and cleaned them and the squeal went away. Also check your caliper alignment.
  5. why not spray with a bit of WD40?? lol only kidding. Maybe try cleaning pads and rotors with some thinners/alcohol/or meths? Then they should hopefully stop screaming like TNT1's mother..
  6. why not a higher stem and some risers?
  7. what has Mr J suggested?
  8. Think I may have found the problem, my hanger was loose, thus causing the ghost shifting. I will go for a decent ride in the morning, and report back. Thanks for all the help so far

  11. Hi Dean I would prefer not to mention, and to be honest I generally try to support all the shops in town with spares and accessories. I just happen to take it to this particular shop to check the hanger with one of there hanger alignment tools.

  14. Hi Guys Was having trouble with ghost shifting my gears on my Giant Anthem X1 (XT rear mech SLX cranks) Chain, rings, cassette all badly worn, so replaced rings cassette (SRAM the red one?) XTR cables and new chain. The shifting is a little better, but still not great. I took it to my LBS to have the hanger checked for alignment, and guy said it was straight. He tried a new Xt rear mech, and said that was the problem, so I purchased the new mech. (something about play in my previous mech) However, I am still haveing issues with ghost shifting?? Any one know what else I could check. I am pretty certain that it more than just a case of "set it up correctly" its definately something wrong?? SO far its been: New rear mech XT Chain XT Chain rings (all three) XTR Cables Rear Cassette (SRAM) Any ideas please???
  15. not to be negative (my new years resolution) but compared to England and Ireland (I have/had) accounts in both country and SA banking sector SUCKS, and is SERIOUSLY overpriced!!!!

  18. I would try spend a little more. I agree with silverbackman, and after a few months you will want an upgrade. try find a bike with minimum Deore components.

  20. I think the best option (budget dependant) is to get a second (cheap) set of mtb wheels. Ask your lbs, they usually have a few odd set lying around.
