  1. Guys... and girls... I'm overwelmed with all your response messages and "likes" to my posts about my dad. Thank you for your support and care to the situation. It's amazing to realise that many other people are going through a similar turmoil, have already had someone dear to them taken away or purely offer support in such tough times. Here is the photo that i spoke about. This will be printed on the back of my cycling kit that i'm currently making. Thanks again to all
  2. I'm having special kit made for that day with a photo of my dad standing with his bike. It will only be worn that one day... washed and framed
  3. My dad was a cyclist his whole life and him and i would have raced the 94.7 together this year. He sadly passed away last year Nov. So i'll be riding the race in honour of him
  4. My first 94.7... gonna be an awesome... and a very sad day all at once
  5. I also entered and keeping an eye on the weather updates. It seems that besides the wind we will have to deal with, we are gonna freeze our royal neh-neh's off. Temperature prediction (ok granted it's early days) min -1 and max 11... eish
  6. Of course... makes sense I'd rather have a look at the times for next week then. Although i love motorsport and would enjoy a free show, i would like to get a full afternoon of cycling before it turns dark
  7. i had a look on the website and times for today and for the rest of the week only start at 17:15? Why not around 16:30 ish as before?
  8. Pitty i'm only seeing your post now (as it is Tuesday already) I'm still pretty keen to go, pretty much any day of the week
  9. Yip... also nr 1 milestone for me this year!!

Sho you lucky okes... i'm counting the days for the flood gates to open on the website
  11. I must agree with some of the statements above... those speed humps were a real pain in the butt, and i saw water bottles flying after each bump. Luckily my cages held onto my bottles and i was good with the fluids till the end. It was quite a chilly start to the morning but warmed up quite nicely soon after the start of the race. I managed 6th in the B group with an average speed of 38.34 with only 2sec's splitting me with the winner. Well done to the man in the ASG kit who won our race!
  12. This would have been lekka if I were in CT... Thanks for the info nonetheless

I'm also a first timer this year.... i'm sooooo looking forward to the race!!!
  14. I was just checking out the drug free video on the CSA website yesterday, where there is also a recommendation to look for the "Trusted" certification. Well done to Biogen for delivering informed and safe supplements!
  15. So i took my bike to a different shop for a "second opinion" and to see what they recommend. The dude told me that they not only tighten the whole spoke, but rather loosen all of them and re-tighten the entire wheel. They also use some toffie like oil on the threads to keep it in place. Well that's all done now, so I recon the proof is in the pudding. He also mentioned that IF it comes loose again, then I must look at the rims as the fault would be rim related then.
  16. This is amazing!! Well done
  17. We're staying at Sun City for the weekend, which they offered to all cyclists at a reduced rate with meals included. So i guess i can't moan to much....
  18. I developed ITBFS... after a quick operation... problem solved
  19. Oh and dare I say... there aren't any goodie bags!!!
  20. Number collected at Fourways... roll on the weekend
  21. Damn, so it's not just a case of tightening a loose spoke. There is actually some major craftsmanship involved here. Well, i suppose a man's got to do, what a man's got to do... Get it to somebody that knows their **** and get it sorted properly
  22. So it looks like it's pedal your @ss off for 40km and then freewheel from there... sweet
  23. They are Aksium Race wheels with blade spokes. It's the original rims that the Cannondale came with
  24. Looks like I'm in B. Starting at 7:25
  25. I don't suppose you know of anybody? Otherwise I'll start asking around if anybody know of somebody (wheelbuilder) in my area of work or home.
