  1. All they have is some dollie bird standing at the finish line and writing down numbers as the people finish... That's about it
  2. I did one race there before and the results were on the Stonehaven on Vaal website.... but.... only about 2-3 weeks after the race
  3. So I don't suppose a bit of lock tight would do the trick on the blade spokes
  4. Any advise on how to fasten a spoke/s in order for the damn thing not too come loose again? Two weekends in a row I noticed my front wheel starting to buckle on a ride. The first time around was close to home at least and I took it to my LBS to true the wheel again. Today the same thing happened and I'm pretty sure it's the same spoke. This time I stopped alongside the road and felt the spoke was loose again and I tightened it to get the rim straightened out again and continued my ride. This is so annoying and I would hate to think the amount of "French" words I would speak if this has to happen in a race.
  5. This would be awesome!!!!
  6. Any further updates on this store? Is it still opening?
  7. On training rides, the Jungle Oats energy bars work a charm and vary that off with banana or gels. During a race it's a different story, as i struggle to chew then. I make use of Ensure or LifeGain as a shake together with gels every so often. Never had a case of nausea or hunger pains
  8. I was also quite "muscle" packed not too long ago and was clocking in at about 97kg... Some training and the right eating habits had me saying hello to the 80's quite quickly. Now i'm 87kg which is getting really close to my ideal weight for my length. That is a saving of 10kg! Didn't cost R5000 Upgrading to lighter and better components on a bike is never a bad thing, but it costs a fortune... i just found that the most cost effective solution to have a lighter ride is to start with myself, and then look at the bike. I'm also starting to look around for carbon rims now. All things said above is my own opinion and own experience... just a thought
  9. I might be keen on this as well for some weekends... I won't be going every weekend, but every now and again will be excellent. Henley1 Are you still running with this and getting guys onboard?
  10. The only place to check road seeding that i know of is on the PPA website. You need to be a licensed rider though
  11. Me again, I prefer the frame piece at the bottom. I don't really like the feeling of the lens against my cheek
  12. I see the split jackets doesn't have the vents on the lenses as the racing jacket and jawbone has. Don't they fog up?
  13. I'm looking for this colour scheme....
  14. So Racing Jackets are the latest and greatest and suggested...
  15. Thanks a mil... I had a look around and browsed the internet for some images. Like i mentioned, it seems the only difference is the Racing Jacket has holes at the end of the stems to fit a strap.... that seems to be pretty much it. The Racing Jacket is also slightly cheaper than the Jawbone plus you get the strap with the Racing Jacket by the seems of things
  16. I'm currently having a look at purchasing one of these sunglasses and just wanted to know what the significant difference is? I understand that the Racing Jacket has holes at the end of the stems for a strap.... but other than that....? Which would you recommend?
  17. So has seen any REAL benifit of joining the Cannondale club?
  18. Oh jaaaaa... now i see there is a MTB event also on the same day.... i missed that
  19. This is the road race i'm talking about http://www.fountainscyclerace.co.za/ Might just enter this to take on the long and flats of Ben-one-I
  20. Hey Jokerman.... how's the unit treating you? My first bike computer was one of these http://www.o-synce.com/en/products/bike/macro-series.html I never had an issue with it and the battery lasted forever
  21. Isn't there a road race on in Benoni on the 31st of August?
  22. My vote is in... 12-14hours blood, sweat and tears
  23. LOVE the wave pics.....!!!! Verrrrrry nice
  24. If it's only a slight sniffle... then i'd take the chance and go train... BUT, being sick and go training is looking for cr@p. Also, to keep on training when you're sick will put you on your @ss very quickly and keep you there for quite some time
