  1. I ordered goods from E-bay on 14 June, and unfortunately didn't see the speedpost option when checking out and paying for the item... it's now coming through the normal snail mail method... And i'm still waiting...
  2. Isn't this the same as the green bike thread? Never the less... here's my ride
  3. Thank you Gerald for your efforts with this competition. It was my first time playing and was an absolute jol... although my score showed differently Congrats to the winners!!!
  4. Wez-O, i'm glad you made mention of you having gone to Concept Cyclery (BG Fit) as i was considering going there. It was toss up between them and the Cycle Fit guys... well then coin has now landed on the Cycle Fit okes.... thanks I've also only heard good things about them, so i'll be sure to pay them a visit soon
  5. Did you smash your bike? Forgot where you parked it last? Or recovering from an ITB op like myself and after a month off only start to cycle now again...
  6. I was thinking the same thing... If you guys wanna get a group together, I'll definitely form part thereof. I work in Midrand, so i guess if i leave work around 4pm... i'll get there in about 20min or so
  7. Blackadder How often do you ride on the track?
  8. What are the tariffs with this Bio? I've gone to Rosebank Sports Clinic and those guys aren't shy to stack up the bill.
  9. If you can compare a stationary bike to a bicycle.... i would say the spinning bike gives more of a realistic feel than a normal stationary bike. Generally you have more adjustments that can be done on a spinning bike. Also those pool size seats on the stationary bike doesn't really do it for me
  10. Crutches? No, you can move around and walk short distances straight after the op... Before i could leave the hospital (on the same day) i was told to stand up out of bed... walk to the loo... have a leak, and walk back. There's no crutches involved bud. I went to Rosebank Clinic and the surgeon was Dr Glen Vardi.
  11. I'm currently on the road to recovery from my ITB surgery... had it done on 6 June. Pretty much the same scenario applied to me as what you guys have explained... tried the ciro, tried the physio... for a long time.... did all the necessary streches, the foam roller... you name it, and i've done it. This carried on for a few months and was really interfering with my cycling, to such an extend that going for a short 40km was horrible and the pain after the ride was something that came straight out of hell... it was really bad! I started reading up about the problem, cures and what other people had to say about it. I also started a topic here on the Hub but i think it was lost with the hub crash a while ago. Most guys agreed that the op was the way to go, only after you tried everything else for some time and there were quite a number of success stories. I've read that some people struggle with it for over 2 years... wow... i don't know how they stayed alive as my issue was for 7 months and that was long enough... So i decided to take the plunge and went for the ITB op, together with a arthroscopy as there was some debriment to remove because of all the scar tissue that was causing havoc.... as mentioned i went the 6th of June so it's now about 5 weeks down. Last week i started light training again... training like a granny actually but just to get moving... this was ok'd by the 1 time visit to the physio after the op. This week i increased the training time slightly and the intensity.... going for my first road ride this weekend and aiming to do about a 20km-30km easy ride. Thus far i can't feel any discomfort whatsoever... so i'm extremely stoked about that!! Although i'm feeling great, i have to keep on reminding myself that i'm still recovering and not go balls to the wall with training and possibly stuff up the knee again, although i do feel that i can start pushing again. Don't wanna be in the situation of having gone through all this trouble and time off for nothing. So in closing.... although my op was only done recently and can't give you a long term experience... i can tell you from what i've experienced thus far... no issues I wish you all the best with your op.... where are you going if i may ask?
  12. The websites say that if you have a light... you can carry on until 19:00. Are there no lights around the course though? Lucky for me is that I work in Midrand... I agree with the traffic situation that time of the afternoon, so this is where the knowledge of back roads come in handy. I agree it might be slightly boring going around the track the whole time, however the track offers safety, chance to mingle, offers a good training typography... I'm actually just keen to go since i haven't been there with the bike. I've been around the track a few times with the R1 though
  13. Does anybody ride there during the week afternoons? I've only always seen guys pulling in there with their bikes and ride around the track. I found this website http://www.ridekyalami.co.za/ which gives a bit more info. I'm quite keen to go some afternoons after work
  14. Now where is the pic i loaded?
  15. I have one of these lights.... They work a charm, and can be set to bright (which is REALLY bright) medium, low or strope. I use them when i go for early morning rides and they show the tar surface perfectly. Also rechargeable which is lekka and lasts about 4 hours on full charge on bright, and about 12 hours from a full charge on low (although low is still pretty good) So when you hit the mist, you can tone down the brighness and not have the mist reflect back at you
  16. I chomp down a jungle bar and a banana on longer rides but generally don't like the whole chewing thing whilst riding... makes me naar So as an alternative together with some solids on the ride i make a shake of Nutren which i carry with me... nice to drink, filling and does the job quite well.
  17. So since we're halfway down the July ladder.... how are these guys doing in opening the store?
  18. What an article.... what a man.... what a team!!! Awesome stuff.
  19. Daryl Impey is a real inspiration!!! Well done boet.... I can imagine how extatic you must be and i know your dad's heart is exploding with pride
  20. Go early... get lekka parking.... have a braai.... same as all the other vellie wearing okes do
  21. I feel your pain Wez-O.... i'm also dangling at the bottom of the food chain. I sincerely hope that things will start turning soon We'll see what happens in the TT today
  22. What a weekend of racing with A LOT of upsets... especially in the 1st stage with a bit of confusion with the bus in the finish line etc etc.... Today is gonna be interesting with a fair amount of climbing in the stage... I'm glad to see that Daryl Impey is keeping the SA flag high... well done boet
