  1. If you're taking Slowmag to avoid cramp rather train harder and hydrate and IF you get cramp chew on 3 or4 Rennies. No more pooping.....🙂 There's nothing worse than a rocket toilet filled to the brim with Godawfulstinky slurry ...
  2. I just look at his last 2 races, finishing nowhere in very low profile races. I'm still a big supporter but please, stop with the excuses. The team, AND Froomey know his power figures and that's why he wasn't selected for the tour. And then on YouTube he posts a "I was ready....." Video.... If he was in decent form I have to believe he'd have been selected as he would generate a lot of hype for the team....not to mention the fact that the tdf contenders are pushing some crazy figures as evidenced by where Primoz Tadej are today....
  3. These guys are mm perfect. I don't see someone at that level going so far wrong.... I've seen Froomey ride a Mavic undersized nogal cos his was busted....I smell excuses ...
  4. Jaco at Shockingly Good Bicycle Service is the best guy in Joburg. He's the only guy I let near my fork or shock and his personal service is genuine and next level! https://sgbservice.co.za/
  5. Joburgs predominant wind (well actually Lanseria Airport) is kinda Northeast. BUT, depending on inbound fronts etc, itcan back around tofull Westerly or Southerly.
  6. In the past when I had issues I was told to clear my browser history.
  7. Hi All I checked in with the attorneys who were assisting the prosecution and received this: "The accused pleaded guilty, and we are awaiting sentencing. Thank you." Looks like a positive (as possible given the circumstances and harm caused to a family) outcome, as long as the sentence isn't suspended or miniscule! Hope he gets a seriously long sentence!
  8. That looks like the stolen bike or am I missing something?
  9. What a great way to explain the time it takes! It's crazy how gaining weight when feasting on holiday happens so quickly, yet starting a programme yields glacier like results..
  10. Thanks for the insight. I acknowledge I don't eat well enough, and need to eat more veg and protein and proportionately less carbs. Thanks CF
  11. Thanks. No budget for dietician, especially the direction they're going to take my cooking 😧 nor for coaching or biokinetics......the health issue thing is mostly genetic and once the prostate cancer has been addressed, which it has, it's no hindrance, although I can't help but feel the after affects of the radiation and the one tab I take for now, have an affect. To distill it down, Im just curious as to if one gym session added to 3 days of cycling would be sufficient as if I add a second one I only have 2, non-conservative recovery or rest days..... 😎
  12. Yip that's where I'm leaning. In my younger days I was fit enough for a 3:45 Argus (about 5 years ago) but after the treatment and a nothing year last year where I felt out of sorts before the cancer was diagnosed, I'm kind of having to start from 0. I'm up to a 60km easy road ride Sat and 40 Sunday, with a 30km MTB ride mid week so the plan is to just go with that one gym session.
  13. I'm turning 60 in December and have been riding recreationally on road and for the last 5 years also MTB,since 1999. I ride 3 days a week, typically Wednesday and then on weekends in the Cradle. As life and more recently a bout of prostate cancer have gotten in my way I have wanted to improve my cycling fitness and lose weight just to become a better cyclist - especially MTB. I recently started gym, doing some basic weight and resistance training for legs, arms, core etc. My question is, how many gym sessions should I do as I feel my recovery is slower, given my age? Last week I had a great gym session on Tuesday and Thursday with a good ride on the Wednesday, plus I'd had 2 decent road rides on the weekend, but this past weekend on Saturday I just had NO legs, which meant for my 60km ride I was in survival mode, leading me to feel that I hadn't recovered. Would doing just one gym session per week still be sufficiently beneficial? 👍
  14. I passed by "late in your crash" and like always, felt sad that someone went down. So glad you're on the mend!
  15. I really hope he can be competitive but I've been disappointed too many times......I love what he achieved and had the pleasure of meeting him a few years ago and found he's a humble decent guy so I'll watch this space next year. I don't see Team Israel giving him much of a chance but here's hoping.....
  16. Does anyone have the latest on the court case?
  17. I've always thought you may as well pull a real gun cos if they're armed and you pull a non lethal but realistic looking lookalike, you'll likely get shot?
  18. Youre heavy on your chain. 🙂 I'm on 9000km on my Sram Eagle XX1 chain on my MTB..... I use only Squirt and to clean it I mostly hold the chain tightly in a damp microfibre cloth and run it through and lube and after every 4 rides or so scrub it with Pink Stuff and rinse with hose.... On my roadbike I ride Shimano 10 Speed Ultegra and have just gone to my second and a half chain in about 8 years or so....
  19. Hold my beer while I reach for my VIP pass to the Gravy Train. Like they say.... cANCer....
  20. Looking at Tom Pidcock and his ability to come through a stacked MTB XC field as if they're riding on flat tyres, I can't help but wonder if they (Ineos) have discovered an elixir....or magic potion....
  21. If CF can't hang in at the tour of "somewhere in China" I doubt he's going to earn a spot in any Grand Tour. Time to do like Darryl and retire
  22. After he wasn't selected for the tour in his YouTube video at the time he said he was "ready for the tour"....wonder which tour he was referring to....
  23. I've been a huge fan but I think even my faith has reached its limits ....from "I was ready for the tour" to 4:03 down and 80th on stage 2 of the Hainan tour in China....unless something happened I'm completely dismayed.
  24. I wonder where this leaves someone trying to sell a gem of a bike which happens to have an affected crankset? Bummer!
  25. You could try hydrodipping a section.....
