  1. Welcome to my world... it's all downhill from here but because you're a cyclist, that's good news 🙃
  2. Ah, the joys of diagnosing a Creak... at our age it's best to check our knees first @ChrisF 😉
  3. That wouldn't explain why I can hear the bloody hub so well 😄
  4. Is it Friday yet? I know I'm old/er and into vintage bikes but I still appreciate the form and function of a well made carbon bike or quality piece of cycling equipment. However, one of the things that really grates my nerves is this industry drive to make hubs as loud as possible. I was recently sitting in a bunch, trying to have a conversation with the rider next to me and the rider in front of me had a hub so loud that couldn't hear the oke next to me. I eventually just asked him to at least soft pedal rather than freewheel because he was making a bloody racket. Gees Louise, when is loud, loud enough? Some of these things are just a total bloody irritation. Granted, some are louder than normal but actually sound pretty good. A mate has a set of Industry 9 Hydras on his MTB and those things sound sweet AF, probably because they remind me of my fishing reel when I get hit by a bus of a steenbras 😄 Am I alone in feeling this way or is my age catching up on me?
  5. It'll arrive, eventually. Same thing happened to mate over Xmas, got refunded and package arrived early Jan. Free goodies 👍
  6. @Mamil Don't allow these f*&^rs to steal your joy, they don't deserve that right. Be vigilant, plan your routes well, take precautions and go out and enjoy your bike. The chances of you being a statistic is still too low to allow it to control you. **** happens all the time, not just on the bike but in life in general. We just hope and pray it doesn't happen to us and if it does, well then we reset and deal with the consequences. That's human nature.
  7. I have a few mates riding on those Meroca's wheelsets and so far they seem to be holding up rather well.
  8. Another senseless fatality of a Husband, Father and Friend and an individual who added value to the life of others through his selfless contributions to his community 😢 RIP Francois, may your death continue to contribute to the rest of the cycling community by being a catalyst for change in the road laws in this country 😩
  9. I can confirm this after many years of intensive research but they are generally positioned in a similar place 🙃
  10. It looks worse than it is @ChrisF, you just have hit it fast enough, a bit like the velodrome banking.
  11. Interesting how some have received poor quality and others not. I don't have a problem with my Souke's at all, besides the leg length. I wonder if it has to do with the model type or if they have difference suppliers?
  12. Hey Chris, from previous research I've done on Garmin batteries, don't waste your time and just get a replacement unit. While you might be able to open the unit, finding the correct battery locally as a replacement is another story.
  13. It's got nothing to do with flexibility and everything to do with my knees hitting my stomach in the drops 🙃
  14. Far as I'm aware, you'll need a 11 speed freebody and yes, if the 10 works on that wheelset then a 11 should work as well. Just take it to a descent bike shop and they can test it for you.
  15. "UCI Certified Frame With a UCI-certified frame, the JAVA FUOCO TOP meets the rigorous standards for professional racing, guaranteeing top-tier quality and competitive readiness." Can't be too bad if certified. Looks like a great value for money option, the market needs bikes like this.
  16. Gees, that comment should destroy the last bit of ego remaining... Ruthless !!!
  17. After all the pre DC kotas hype I was expecting major fireworks from all those teams. Seems like most of them talked themselves right out of the game with a couple of Kings of the Boerie Curtain teams rolling them on the finish line as well 😉 But hey, at least they talked a great race.
  18. Bring it on @CTLonewolf, I'll go to war with you guys, we make one hell of a team. Not the fittest, fastest or leanest but we ride as one and for a great cause that's what this race is all about 🙌 "Twaalf manne Twaalf" 😉
  19. The big question still remains... where is Remco? 😄
  20. Yussus... Big Hitters United
  21. Maddy Nutt posted her video of GB on YT. She mentions some of the "Epic type" camp issues they had to deal with. It seems inevitable on a production of that size. Overall still a very positive review of the event.
  22. Yup, plenty of other places to hustle, like FB Marketplace, Gumtree and Buy/Sell whatsapp groups. Rules are there for a reason and the reason isn't discrimination.
  23. I heard Remco was spotted in the City Bowl as well... now that'll be a signing of note 😲
  24. I'm a little sorry I'm there on the bicycle this year and not the camera bike to see it all unfold firsthand. Gotta give those okes credit, witnessing them dicing up close and personal gives me gooseflesh. They literally f-off at unimaginable speeds over that distance. 2 or 3 years ago when Breitling was racing, my camera guy had a drone in the air just after the first feed zone. His next assignment shot was under the Jacaranda's. It took us close on 20km's just to catch them again and I had that 690 open wide 😲 When 3 or 4 teams hook up, you can hear those carbon wheels coming from a mile away, it sounds like rolling thunder.😲
  25. I can see where you got your username 😉🤙
