hey Horseman Firstly welcome to the hub!!!! This is a great place to do exactly what you did, get some valuable (and sometimes not so valuable) advice from likeminded cyclist!! Geez for someone who has only been riding since April I'd say those times are pretty impressive!!! Some of us who have been riding for much longer than that would kill for those times, me being one of them!!! There is lots of info and training advice and stuff available and everyone has there own ideas of what the best way is to do things. the best thing to do is hang around, as these discussions come up all the time and you pick up very valuable info. Geez you boys!!!! where did we go from girls been taken seriously in bike shops to boy's in bikinis???? All I wanted to know was do they have a certain brand of cycling glasses, now what was so intimidating about that? I agree let's not get into a religious debate, but look at it this way..... Ok as cervelo says the guy had a bad day and lost it, so taking the type of person he seems to be into account let's say that this happened while driving and a cyclist cut him off. So he hits the cyclist and kills him ..... do we then also say shame he had a bad day and lost it, NO!!! So why should it be different for a defenceless animal, who did not choose to be there but was chosen by the owner to be there? I don't feel sorry for his family either, they obviously condoned what he did which makes them the same as him and maybe this will teach them a lesson now. Personally I don't buy that it was an accident either, not with all the coverage this case got .... mmmhhhh??????

That's how I understand it as well Driewiel You can license through a club, so you get an Elite or a anual license. Not to sure about the cost of the Elite license, but the anual license will cost you R75 rand and this means you can race and get seeded properly. My understanding is also that you can race in any category if you have the Elite License, you don't have to ride Elites. The R35 license is a day license only and that means you can race but not get seeded, so you start at the back with the 'plebs' (like me). I could have it wrong amateur2007-08-06 04:12:38
