  1. RodTi - Why don't you see if you can borrow a medium from someone and take it for a spin first to see if it might be better for you?? amateur2007-02-20 07:06:56

  3. maybe he has sour-grapes becuase he can't race anymore, that's why he now goes and stuff's up other people's races, maybe just to prove a point. You know like you can ban me from racing but you can't ban me from being here so in your faces. I don't know just from reading all this, that's what it seems like to me. my 2c

DOn also wanna start pissing the rest of the hubbers off, I'm really a nice person, (I hope). I think there has been enough discusions about people's 'assets" - mine included Let's just leave it up to everyone's imagination (as scary as that sounds) and I'll help the lady out!!
  8. Polar actually makes their own conductive gel, you can buy it at sportsman's at the polar little counter. SOrry to get all girly but it also depends on how you fit it with your underwear, you need to put it under the bra and you wont feel it even being there. PM me if you want more detials.

  11. When we cycle together we have rules where if you see a car you shout, "car back move left", or "car trying to pass move left", we do this naturally and the other person just moves over, but we started that from the beginning, maybe start doing this subtly on your rides and if he asks you about it just say, oh I went for a ride with some hubbers and they were doing this and I thought it was a clever way to keep us safe. And just keep doing it, pretty soon he'll start getting the picture. Hope this helps!!
  12. Just don't use the WHite Lightning spray!!! It says you spray it on leave it for a while then wash it off and bob's your uncle ..... cleanlyness..... CRAP!!!!! You spray - yes It drips grease off - yes about 5 drops (after emptying half the can) You rinse - yes It cleans - NO!!!!

  14. also 167cm and have a Fuji MTB, which is a compact frame and it's a 16', and it's unbeleivably comfortable. My road bike is a small (or54) and is not a compact frame and I ride stretched, even with the shortest stem available to man kind. But I agree, before you buy it take it for a ride and feel. But dont just ride that one, because if you are a beginner and don't know what you're doing it's going to feel right. Ride a bike smaller than that and one bigger as well and then feel what feels more comfy. my 2c
  15. didn't say you were joking just funny, I appreciate the warped mind. I covered a chick's (i had an issue with her) car's front window in vaseline once. You can't wash that stuff off, she had to replace the windscrene. It was a hoot!! Damn I just wish I thought of the roadkill!!!

  19. We were also there a minute or two after it happened and the damage to that car and the distance between were it hit the cyclist and were it finally stoped was indication that he could not have been doing less than 160 km/h. That is just ridiculous. My entire day was stuffed after that,we continued our ride but no-one really felt like it and most felt like going home, the ride was quiet and no-one had much to say. One of the guys actually said that he thinks he will stop cycling after seeing that, He has a wife and kids at home and can't bear what it will do to them if he simply does not return home one morning. Ofcoarse at the scene some of the cyclist wanted to rip this guy to shreds, but we were saying the reality is that he could have carried on, at that speed none of us would've been able to stop him. He got out the car and ran back up the road as fast as he could. Plus knowing that he had been drinking he could've ducked and he didn't! It's just so sad and needless, we only heard about the guy on Saturday at the circus halfway through our ride on Sunday. We did that route on Saturday morning as well and had one close call with a truck. That road has alot of space on the sides, due to the number of cyclists that use it and the number of incidents had, can't they extend it a bit and make a proper cycling lane??????
  20. I have very bad knees and couldn't stand out of the saddle on climbs at all, then I started spinning and it increased the strenght of my knees, as I could stand for longer on the bike in class, due to the stability of the bike. Now I can stand on a climb for much longer and it increases as my knees get stronger, but it's a hell of a relief on a climb to just use different muscles even if it is only for a few pedal strokes. The other side of the coin is my seated climbs are much stronger so in spinning class when you keep the same resistance but you sit everybody's cadence drops and mine picks up, I love it , but on the road I suffer a little more. Personally I think it helps. If you can't get out on the road then rather spin than do nothing, even if it doesn't do anything for your cycling, it's good cardio.
