  1. The seat post only slides into the top securing point so you can just pull it out. Just the bottom that has the lock
  2. Will saw of the bottom of the seat post where it fits the lock. Pin will drop out the other side and the seat post will be free and everything else back to where it has to be so i can peddle away No thief though but technically it makes sense
  3. I have a pair of specialized xc pro shoe with carbon sole. Also flat feet as well. They gave me a bit of discomfort on the sides of my feet in the beginning but just released the buckle and straps ever so slightly and kept riding. What i did find is that when i washed them the instruction manual said that you should squash news paper in them to absorb the damp and keep the shape. Since i've been doing that i have never had any issues with discomfort with these shoes at all. probably the best shoes i have ever had....
  4. If you want to polish your frame rather not use the sandblasting option. Sand blasting leaves small pit marks in the frame surface which you need to polish out later. Use paint stripper and some elbow grease my friend. Only way

  6. You will mount your shock with the lockout showing down. Make sure that the seller gives you the shock bushes with the shock. Everything should slip in perfectly. Just remember that this shock does not have a remote lock out adapter fitted so your twin lever sistem will not work as it is now
  7. My scott had a dt swiss shock as well and my replacement was a rock shox morarch. No remote lockout but my frame has all the cable routing to be able to do that. Scott also has the same routing so in theory it should fit just fine.... Post the link to the shock so we can just make sure if you don't mind.
  8. You measure from hole to hole where it gets mounted. As far as i know you have a 165mm shock eye to eye. So your replacement shock sould be the same.

  10. Its funny how something so small could have saved this man a lot of grief. Even saved him from having to vent on the hub........But then if he did not vent he would not have received this response....Always so much issues where as if he fixed his buckle from day one all of this would have been sorted
  11. Sorry to high jack this thread but i had a similar problem only with a GPS unit...(will not mention the brand). My first unit was 9 months old and started fogging up behind the screen which ended up calling it quits. Phoned the suppliers and they would take a look if i courier it to them. COOL...done! So 3 weeks later received a phone call to say my package is on its way with new unit. Happy days.....But 13 months later same story but only this time my unit did not charge neither would it switch on. So sent it back. I received a phone call again. This time from the technician. Sorry sir we can not repair it and its out of warranty....You can however pay R800 for a replacement unit and we will send you one again.....Needles to say, what happened to the 2 year warranty per unit and why would i let myself be burnt again with the same product and be R 800 bucks out of pocket....? Thanks but no thanks. The unit is still by them and they can keep it for all i care...Bought a R 500 jobby and works just fine. I have been saying it for a while now...Customer service in this country is a complete F@#$% up. Bottom line..People who have successful businesses are the ones who place their customers first because they are the ones that keep the doors open. AS long as he or she walks out the door with a smile he or she will always come back to support you. Place them above your own personal gain and you'll make a success of anything regarding retail. Just my 2cents

  13. I have everything to do it myself just not all the finer detail a proper veteran of the trade has. I've seen the man's work. It s really really good! AKA Bogus One

  15. Buying a chinese carbon frame and would like to make it one of the two colours. Are these colours codes internationally recognized as well?
  16. thanks guys. Is the 375c for pyga and 802c for niner? Bit stupid with this kind of thing
  17. Hi Guys I am looking for the protone colour code for Pyga green or the green on some of the Niners Want to order a frame with one of the two colours I do not want to look like a fool running around with colour samples matching it to every Pyga or Niner in Durbanville Any advice will be appreciated Thanks
  18. Thanks Meezo.

  20. Hi guys. I sell stainless bb bike stands for a mere R100 bucks. I've sold over 20 thus far and no negatives to mention https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/97323-stainless-steel-bike-stands/
  21. I had the same problem and changed to the monarch. No more issues
  22. My 2 cents I've been servicing bikes for a while now and common practice from my side is my checklist. That bike will not leave my doors until its done checked and rode with. I always give my customers a call or mail to let him or her know the price on repairs. If they can not repair or replace everything i will make a note on the job card and will do them later or after a month. The way you handle a situation after making a mistake will cause that person to come back or not come back at all. You are only as good as you last job. Communication is key and the customer is king.
  23. Thanks Eddie and Fabian. Hope to see you guys soon
  24. Print you exploded view and keep it on hand since all the parts and the way its put together will be shown and when you see the pic and the parts in real time things will make a lot more sense. you will need cone spanners to.
  25. I have a wolf tooth 30 NW in front and a 11 x 36 cassette at the back with xt clutch derailure.I have a Full suspension bike and has been riding for 3 months without any dropped chain or issues. Max out on 35km/h but can peddal lekke up Meerendals Dorsberg with no problems. For me and my riding style it works great. Love to be able to clean behind the chain ring as well. I have to add that when i am in 10 gear (small ring 11) the chain tend to slip but only on the rough stuff. i believe that the chain should be slightly shorter but its not a issue for me at this point. Most guys going the one by route does not or forget to shorten the chain and that is were the problem lie's with dropping chains. You have to shorten it.....
