  1. Our national airline "recapitalisation" tax bailouts are disappearing down a black hole. That said, he could have insured his equipment with CycleSure
  2. Langbal Silver must be thanking his lucky stars that the heat is off him, for the time being!
  3. C'mon, tell us how you really feel about this idea.... no need to hold back
  4. Didn't you read the rules? Entry is open to all Hubbers except Chuck Norris, employees and immediate families of Chuck Norris and their associated companies, brands, agencies and participating outlets. Immediate family means Chuck Norris's spouse, ex-spouse, defacto spouse, child or step child (whether natural or by adoption), parent, step parent, grandparent, step grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister, step brother, step sister or 1st cousin. Let's keep it fair, ok? Schweet. Thanks bud
  5. It's all over now
  6. Hope she isn't insured with CycleSure/Hollard.
  7. These days people want a quick fix, they don't invest time into relationships. Sad really.
  8. . I haven't received any EFT's from CL lately, gonna havta have a chat with "Andrew" The term "noob" in the context of this thread, refers to your Hub membership, not your riding experience.
  9. I wonder if Admin could establish how many one-poster members exist, and of those how many are rant related. See Skipperw's post above. It takes as much time to enage the offending party in an email, as it does to gripe about it here, and the results are tangible. It's best to exhaust all other avenues before hitting the rant button.
  10. That's what my ex-wife said 6 years ago, and then she appointed a badass lawyer
  11. Phewee, it's definitely Friday.... another noob first poster rant..
  12. You two are soooo serious. Your indignation is cute, but I don't buy it for a second. "100's of millions", really? You know that for a fact? I doubt it. Even so, such a figure is tantamount to window-dressing and grandstanding, a mere tip of a very large iceberg where politics and cash go hand in hand. Those very goods are back on the street, or replaced, in no time. Everyday our markets are flooded with cheap, dangerous, imported rubbish, sold on street corners with absolute impunity. Cycle Science is a good example of the authorities casting a convenient blind eye, even a Carte Blanche expose hasn't resulted in a prosecution or closing of their business. The so-called authorities would rather concentrate on legitimately imported products to increase their revenue stream, than irk it's biggest single foreign investor. Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings, but we are a colony of China whether we like it or not. Enjoy your evening
  13. It's convenient for SA authorities to be soft on counterfeit products, and associated illegal activities, a by-product of being in bed with the People's Republic of China. Rubbing your main international "investor" up the wrong way, wouldn't be good for international relations. Individual politician's bank balances would take a hammering too. We're victims of a flawed, corrupt, despotic, hypocritical system.
  14. Robertson is 160km from Slaapstad central. That's exactly the reason, killing two birds with one stone. Ride early, and join the festivities later. Take a tent if there is no formal accommodation available. It was Brrrr cold last year.
  15. You guys are such skeptics, the poor dude needs the cash to pay for his frontal lobotomy. Looks legit to me
  16. The heavier your bike, the harder you'll work, the fitter you'll get quicker.
  17. The brand in SA has taken a huge knock, due in no small measure to Cycle Science's opportunistic shenanigans and the relatively cheap chinarello knockoffs available at the click of a non-ASG button. For my (admittedly limited) money, I prefer to steer clear of the brand altogether.
  18. Kick your own arse and notch it up to (in)experience. Those are them apples.
  19. Being your usual douche bag self I see. Jigghead has a point, every rule has an exception and injury is a mitigating reason for missing an an arbitrary service timeframe. If you have nothing positive to add, stfu. Don't feed the trolls Jiggs, it's a thankless task.
  20. 90 percent of CS clientele just want a "Peena cheep cheep", they wouldn't know what a hub is (real or virtual). We'll only find them here once they look under the BB.
  21. Good job, despite your injuries. I love the atmosphere at this event, it's so much better than the Oceans half and the weather is always favourable. Next Half on the Cape running calender is the Jive Slave Route 21.1 on 12th May. I'll be there. First 10km is hilly, around Bo-Kaap, last 11 is downhill and flat around the Sea Point and back toward Grand Parade. This Sunday is the 10km UCT Memorial, also a nice little lung burner.
  22. I've yet to put anything in my saddlebag, but I'll gladly take a push up the hill.
  23. How did you get along today? 2.08 for me.
  24. Thanks for sharing that with us. Although violence is never the answer, in this instance I too would have made an exception to that rule. Ultimately the driver thoroughly deserved a PK.
