  2. Eish got some big cojones. but what happened to the last huge drop?
  3. Price?
  4. I can vouch for this, John is riding extremely well at the moment and is learning how to ride strategically now as he just piped me to the line on Sunday by half a wheel.

  6. If things don't work out as planned a backup plan might be to go to your local bike shops and see if you can work a deal with them where you play cost for parts and get labour free or ask to learn how to maintain your own bikes. I am sort of in the same boat as you (top 10-15 at sani, karkloof, sa champs) but am happy being a privater as I have seen to many friends drop out the sport due to pressure put on them by sponsors to constantly pump there products and them riding for the wrong reasons. I ride for fun and if going fast and keeping the pro's on there toes is a bonus so be it. You will also require nutrition and a power meter to do things properly. Plus training will be in the region of 20hrs and 600kms a week. Haveing some natural talent also helps.
  7. Could also organise a sweet deal on a SC for you.

  9. To answer your question http://www.triridemt...nt-sainte-anne/ and Greg's hand is about double it normal size. Edit: Fixed
  10. I prefer a metal spike in the seatpost.
  11. My father has a quick and easy way to tell the value of a bike as well as the type of rider. Just look at the saddle, the less padding the better the bike and rider.
  12. I have been lucky enough to ride one of these beauties around the garden and OMW does it pedal well even with the fork and shock fully open, if you put them in climb mode then its like a ridged hard tail. I would seriously take one of these and go race the local 65km on it.
  13. Maybe I'm a bit slow this morning but I can't understand what you just said?
  14. but that might compromise: can do long(er) rides with comfort √
  15. I know, but should be close enough. As far as I know that's measured with a 130mm fork and the bike can take up to a 150mm which should slacken it out passed 69°. 140mm should work nicely with the rear 135mm.
  16. While the boys are enjoying there holiday some one has to keep the dream alive. Hope to see some vid's of the guys ripping it up along here. http://www.epictv.com/media/podcast/the-art-of-flow-with-nico-vink-|-tales-from-the-soil-ep-6/600042#
  17. I agree with the consumer not having to pay if it is a legitimate warranty and not someone trying there luck (not saying this case) but it does happen, but then some one has to pay at the end of the day so the shop/supplier/manufacturer/shareholders pay ? and the cost just gets passed along the supply chain and the end result will be a more expensive product so the customer will pay in the end, flawed system. Read some of the T&C's and some stipulate returns at customers expense.
  18. Ried beat Cooper this year in PMB and Nové Mesto na Morave but Cooper beat Reid at Albstadt and one of the American Cup races, excluding the American race they have been within 2 mins of each other al year. I did however hear that Cooper was suffering from some virus and he was way off the pace that he was riding as a junior.
  19. If you meaning turn/flip the chainring around then I don't think that is possible. XX1 defiantly not as the one side of the chairing is machined to fit the spider. XO1 maybe but I think the chainring is also machined to fit the spider one way, you would also need longer chainring bolts and It will probably move your chain line in towards the frame. X1 might work as there are 3 different cranks and I think the chainrings are symmetrical where they mount to the spider so only longer bolts and chain line to think of. Not sure though? Just my 2c.
  20. Try giving Head Office a call 021 808 7333 I think the number is correct. Fight it and not just for a refund, they must produce what you paid for end off story.
  21. http://www.ecr.co.za/post/westville-cyclist-attacked-stabbed/ Diane Macpherson - Michelle wants to warn cyclists to be careful about stopping on the side of the road on Blair Atholl Road, now Rodger Sishi (Westville North) at the split to the M19. Her dad was attacked there by five men, at 5:45 yesterday morning, while he had stopped to fix a puncture. The attackers stabbed him, and he also sustained multiple scratches and is very bruised. The suspects fled with his Giant racing bike. Please be very careful if you cycle this route. And we sincerely hope Michelle's dad is going to make a full recovery from this horrific incident. He's currently in ICU.
