  2. Eish!!! Keeping that one honest is a bit out of my league.

  5. http://www.ecr.co.za/post/westville-cyclist-attacked-stabbed/ Diane Macpherson - Michelle wants to warn cyclists to be careful about stopping on the side of the road on Blair Atholl Road, now Rodger Sishi (Westville North) at the split to the M19. Her dad was attacked there by five men, at 5:45 yesterday morning, while he had stopped to fix a puncture. The attackers stabbed him, and he also sustained multiple scratches and is very bruised. The suspects fled with his Giant racing bike. Please be very careful if you cycle this route. And we sincerely hope Michelle's dad is going to make a full recovery from this horrific incident. He's currently in ICU.
  6. So my stage race week of training is over. Finished up on TSS:1838 IF:0.8775 Looking at the numbers I think they are reading a bit high as I haven't changed my threshold since the beginning of the year due to me taking up the weekend warrior technique of training and being to lazy. Time to get my A into G for the rest of the season.
  7. Quite a bit. Got another hard 4hrs in will check now
  8. If you say the rotor is completely flat, then it might not be totally symmetrical? as in it's rubbing on the middle of the spring that separates the pads. So this: Could rub on this:
  9. Big week TSS: 1569 with a bike ride planned for tomorrow.
  10. Given the circumstances a replacement needs to be found. I nominate: http://www.jennyrissveds.se/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/MG_4336.jpg http://www.moredirt.com/photos/84883.jpg

  13. Does anyone know who owns this beast?
  14. Not mine sadly found on the darkhorse FB page. But yip i would guess a commuter.
  15. In the weigh vs aero there are way to many factors to consider and every case is different. Bike weight Rider weight Gradient Rolling resistance Type of riding Level of rider Etc, etc, etc. One interesting article I read a while ago stated rolling resistance (tyres and road surface) was more important than weight, and weight only became more beneficial over 9%
  16. Saw this beast in the airport underground at the beginning of the year.
  17. That is sacrilege of the highest order only Campagnolo SR may grace that frame. Beg, Borrow, Steel On a serious note. I have been riding Ultegra DI2 for that last 18 months with no issues, the stuff is bomb proof. The on the fly adjust-ability is great and a big plus for me. The only thing to watch out for is if you leave the bike standing for a long period (a month or two) the computer seems to calculate remaining battery level on that rate of use, so you might get caught out on your next ride where it will drop in to small ring and you will only be able to use the rear derailleur. In reply to the guy's who have had it not working and stuffing up there race. If they are sponsored Pro's then I'm not surprised as a large number of them treat there equipment like $h!t as they not paying for it. I have seen It first hand and been the one that has to fix it. It also doesn't help when someone manages to crash in every race and bring down half the bunch. (This might not be the case). On "SwissVan's" point make sure it is wired correctly and nothing is rubbing, catching, pulling, etc. The key is doing the job right the first time. As for the washing. I would happily ride mine under water. First ride out the box 80km from home I got caught in one mother of a thunder storm and the "rain" if I can call it that was bucketing down from all directions. After that ride with no problems I was sold. Now when washing I use the hosepipe on full blast and have never had the slightest issue. every few months I do however out some grease on the battery terminals and it's good to go.
  18. Pretoria - Cyclists in the east of Pretoria say they are under threat from trigger-happy bicycle robbers following a spate of incidents in which one of them was shot in the arm, while another is lucky to be alive after a bullet hit his helmet and missed his head by a few millimetres. http://www.iol.co.za/news/crime-courts/pretoria-cyclists-under-siege-1.1596204
  19. Good luck to all the lucky buggers who are going on this trip, and expect to see video's of all of you hitting this. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10152396952422771
  20. I some how think the "Giant trance advanced 27.5 +- R58k" the OP is referring to is the Advanced 1 as I'm pretty sure the Advanced 0 is over 80k.
