  1. I decided to take a look and it is the same steerer tube as in previous models 1"1/8 top and 1"1/5 bottom.
  2. Oh no. That's a step backwards in my opinion.
  3. The Headtube is so darn big it makes the fork steerer tube look like a 1" Not sure if i like how the headtube overhangs the fork at the bottom either.
  4. Not the best pic, but the only one I could find. This was before we got the rear fixie Aerospoke wheel so it's a ghetto single speed in the pic.
  5. I am in LOVE.
  6. I recently did a conversion on one of these to a Fixie. I'll see if I can find the pic's.
  7. Not sure if this applies to gloves, but does apply to other fox clothing. Fox have run out of stock and will only be getting in January or February next year.
  8. Would have to agree with Pappa Bear.
  9. Sh%t man. Sorry for your loss.
  10. Powasol Liqui Polish. But but not cheap. http://powasol.co.za/product/liqui-polish/ http://powasol.co.za/wp-content/uploads/sites/40/2014/03/liqui2-500x500.png
  11. There are a number of things you could change and there is no quick fix in my book. So change one thing and test it out if that doesn't help try something different, repeat this process till you succeed. or go for a bike fit. As a starting point check your saddle height is correct (not to high). and tilt the nose of the saddle down so that it is slightly below the rest of the saddle.
  12. Brendon raced Mankele this weekend and is going over to join James for the next round I think. Philip Buys 39th Rourke Croeser 57th Mariske Strauss 53rd Tim Wilkins 110th Dylan Rebello 111th
  13. Snakeskin or Twinskin is a must. First choice is the Evolution Line (this gives you the snakeskin option) with the PaceStar compound (this gives you the tri-compound with really soft side knobs that grip like hell and roll well). I have been running these 29X2.25 front and rear for 2 years now and have NEVER had a puncture or burped a tyre. Front tyre has lasted 3,300kms and is on its last legs. Rear tyre lasted about 2,000kms but have now blown through a second one very quickly doing more Enduro style riding and locking the rear up in to berms as the compound is a little to soft at the rear. The Twinskin option also has a thicker sidewall but not as much protection as the Snakeskin, and these are part of the Performance line and don't have the tri-compound so the knobs are a lot harder and less flexible. I have now got hold of one of these for the rear 29X2.10 and hopefully it will last longer. Truly fantastic tyres, but are rather expensive but I still wont run anything else for the near future.
  14. Was fortunate enough to race Sani2C this year and we were going for a top 15 overall. So I nearly fell off my bike in shock on day 2 when we only passed her 45kms in to the stage climbing out the valley. Huge respect, and she can certainly turn a pedal.
  15. Garmin
  16. If I may ask what was your time for Tour Durban? Yes you should be able to complete the Compenduim 45km easily if you pace yourself as the climbing is in the beginning and end with a lot of single track in the middle.
  17. I think this is only possible given a relatively flat route and someone to second you. If going solo and having to stop to refuel then 500KM. I recently did a 200KM ride with 3600m ascent in 07:30h and that was with a max temp of 39C. So given the right conditions and no mechanicals or problems 500KM+. I'm not sure but i think there are a few guys who have done JHB to DBN in under 24HRS.
  18. I would try ZTR Crest 380g or Arch EX 460g not sure if TWT bring in the 28H versions? As for keeping the old spokes, sorry you got about a 2% chance.
  19. I got one planned but going need to have to wait till exams are over.
  20. Hahaha. I remember seeing you coming into the medic's tent after day 2 and there were a bunch of us waiting for the "hydrochloric acid" Eye Drops from hell, and you were apologizing for Mooning us as they cleaned up your ass.

  23. My 2c I wouldn't compare a Tallboy with a Epic or Vipa as the Tallboy is an extremely good all rounder and the Epic and Vipa are more race oriented.
  24. Don't forget to take into account whether the new bar has the same rise and sweep.
