  1. Seabourne, First Freight, Night Wing, and even EWC will do it on request. Beware of volumetric charges from any courier without a specific bike shipping service.
  2. I saw that kid at the start and then come flying down the straight section which runs along side the jeep track, nearer the top. Was lank impressed to say the least. Some sections of that route are quite hectic, for a 10year old it has to be quite daunting. I got a feel for the general vibe at the start of the DH run and it was awesome, okes relaxed, joking with timing marshalls and just steadying themselves before the run. So much nicer than the start of a XC race, that is for sure. I want to move to PMB.
  3. I absolutely love Cascades!!!! as a XC rider, it is flipping insane. Watching the nationals on saturday and then trying to ride it myself, I only have the highest respect for even the kids riding the same course. Crazy technical and with some insane climbs. Downhill track was great, although didnt ride it, followed it right up to the start and then back down again while trying to get a few photos. Have to commend the guys who put in the work, and i feel so spoiled riding there now, CPT trails arent even nearly as good. Karkloof was absolutely insane!!!! more single track than anything else. Managed to grab a picture of Greg clearing a gap jump higher up on the course, we found this section purely by chance and it paid off a few minutes later with this shot:
  4. This is why I bought a proper set of rims for my MTB tubeless and use the stock rims for slicks hot swapping rocks..
  5. I wanted to DNF but ended up pushing through it...
  6. That said, if you are seeded lower than somebody else, can you ride with that person in a later group? Would it effect your seeding for future races or does the time count, irrespective of which group you start in?

    Argus 2014

    It broke me..
  8. will be in saturday first thing.
  9. will be in Karkloof next weekend!! yes please!
  10. spending that amount now will force you to spend more than double not long after when you realise you need something better, and the bug bites. Second hand bikes at that price probably need quite a bit of work.
  11. dont think this is the place for silly troll comments.
  12. van driver speaks: http://www.iol.co.za...82#.UxW-WvmSw1Z
  13. Lol - this is a sign of putting foot in mouth and trying to get out of it.
  14. Of course, somebody linked this forum thread on their facebook page. If they are swinging punches at van drivers, they sure as hell will come here to talk *** that is for sure.
  15. What reasoning or justification did any of the cyclists have to escalate the confrontation to physical levels, which involved throwing some punches and some fool actually trying to use his bike? Hope he buckled his wheel. There is none, and those guys crossed a line and they need to be dealt with. he said she said whatever, what is pretty damn clear is the video and the actions contained.
  16. I am not a roadie, and will not be labeled as such screw the one community.. Its roadies & mounties not necessarily against each other however.
  17. I had a feeling, although seriously wasnt sure with everything thats been said over the last few months on this forum
  18. This is complete unnecessary... why antagonise people who probably ride alongside you any other day, for no apparent logical reason? If anything keep it limited to road vs offroad mountain bikers should not become their own enemies.
  19. https://www.facebook.com/mc2cycling Just posted on their facebook wall: "MC2 SOCIAL AWARENESS MESSAGE MC2 EXPRESSES ITS SINCEREST CONCERN, AT THE VIDEO CLIP THAT IS BEING FILTERED AROUND. WE THANK THE PERSON/PERSONS WHO BROUGHT THE INCIDENT TO OUR ATTENTION. WE ARE CURRENTLY LIAISING WITH THE RELEVANT PARTIES, AND INVESTIGATING THE MATTER. WE THANK ALL THE MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC FOR THEIR OPINIONS AND, WILL IN THE INTEREST OF THE SPORT OF CYCLING AND ROAD SAFETY, INVESTIGATE AND REPORT TO ALL AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. AS IN OUR CONSTITUTION: "WE PROMOTE AND DEFINITELY IMPRESS UPON RESPECT FOR OTHERS AND SAFE CYCLING. THIS MATTER WILL RECEIVE OUR IMMEDIATE ATTENTION!"
  20. Wow, and the anabided ignorance and illogical hatred of all cyclists that is ensuing on facebook is out of hand. People are painting with very broad strokes here.. just shows you what a few assholes can do for everyone in the community.
  21. Yeah, this was originally posted by a colleague of a friend of mine on Facebook, so I just dumped the link here.
  22. "Earlier yesterday morning I was driving on Beach Road towards Cape Town, just past the Pavilion. There are two lanes and I was in the right hand lane. I found myself approaching a bunch of about twenty cyclists, probably practicing for the Argus Cycle Tour. They were in the left lane, but many were riding abreast so some were even encroaching into the right hand lane, past the center line. Aware of the new 1.5 meter rule, I slowed to give them space and was unwilling to overtake. Further ahead was a stationary vehicle that was double parked but it went unnoticed by the leader of the group who was looking back and communicating to the rest of the team. The group were moving swiftly and only at the last second when the leader again faced forwards, did he see the vehicle…. Just in the nick of time. He had to swerve to avoid the vehicle and this obviously upset him. He stopped his bicycle abruptly and flew into a violent rage. The entire peleton pulled up in support and some followed his lead. I fumbled with my phone for valuable seconds and eventually got the camera going, and filmed the violence unfolding before me. You can clearly see how they battered the vehicle, bent the windscreen wipers, pepper sprayed the driver, tried to steal his keys, assaulted him with a bicycle wheel and punched him and the passenger in the face repeatedly. There was a lot more going down than what you can see in the video. I drove away as the vehicles further behind me grew impatient but a few hundred meters further I decided to do the right thing and return to assist the driver and his passenger. By the time I got there, the cyclists had left (I passed them) and the Van was nowhere to be seen. I stopped at my friend Dave D’Aguiar, and shared the video. Dave was equally disturbed by the video and took it to Sea Point Police Station himself about two hours later. He inquired at the charge office if anyone had laid a charge against cyclists for road rage and, as coincidence would have it, the victims were themselves in the police station doing exactly that! As it turns out, they were volunteer workers cleaning up the hydration bags and other litter after the finish of the 10KM Sunshine D, Nelson Mandela Commemorative Walk. If you would like to be instrumental in bringing these hooligans to justice then please SHARE this post now. Like minded citizens may recognize some of the perpetrators and the clubs they ride for. If you recognize any of the cyclists in the video then either ‘name and shame’ or call the investigating officer directly, Warrant Officer Olivier on 021 430 3700."
  23. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10202991800372949 These cyclists are clearly out of line, cant see what started it but definitely taken way to far by these pieces of trash. Would love to know the club involved, cant seem to see it in the video.
  24. Yeah, and assume its going to be windy. That way you are either on the money or pleasantly surprised.
