  1. The bug bit not long ago. Absolutely love hiking and trailing in general, and well now im at a point where walking is just too slow. Think I went a bit too quickly into it as I now have issues around my ITB and hip rotation etc. Physio will get it right then im back on the trails. Hope to enter my first trail run early next year.
  2. At least that ale was pretty good for the wait. Im pretty toasted now, legs are taking the weekend off. Never expected such tough climbs, and the last one was the straw...
  3. Thanks, although have a buddy going through tomorrow to collect his number so will sign the necessary and get him to collect ours. Dont want to risk it.. They should have this information on the website to be honest, and at least answer calls or reconfirm the registration details on the voicemail since that is probably why their voicemail is full.
  4. Guys, can we register on friday before the race? It says registration is only tomorrow in stellies? I assume this isnt the case?
  5. The Knife - Heartbeats Jose Gonzales - heartbeats Ellie Goulding - Heartbeats https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8zGOTwnBNU
  6. Love my shrooms, poisonous (once upon a time) and non-poisonous. Nothing like a creamy mushroom soup... mmm
  7. Baking on this diet is a budget killer.... Cheesecake seems to be the best bang for buck..
  8. Ive been riding a Racing Ralph at the back and a Canis in front and Ive come to love it.. replaced with Racing ralph with a Geax Sanguaro and the combination is really good, grippy and good rolling resistance.
  9. Table spoon? Dam ok Ive been going easy.. yeah, forgot to include cream.. definitely add cream.
  10. Bulletproof coffee - how I love thee.. 1 tsp MCT oil 1 tsp kerrygold butter Coffee of choice sweetner of choice *** Protein (Egg, powder) if you need additional nutrients, otherwise get those at lunch/dinner. something to spritz it up, and make it nice and creamy. This is breakfast in a cup.
  11. Sheesh seriously unfortunate but I think most of us knew there had to be something wrong with their initial decision. Glad its finally cleared up..
  12. My folks keep bees, we get soo much honey we dont know what to do with it.. all raw and awesome. mix some with some brown rice syrup, mollassas and maybe some vanilla for flavour.. home made gels that really work...
  13. According to my GP, all low carb diets end up with elevated cholestorol in the first 2 months. He went on to say, do not get tested during this period. Wait 2 months or so then test and it should be more accurate.
  14. Ditto on Crown, Mark is a legend and saved me many a time... Prices are good as well I think..
  15. I still keep having to refer to my dad. On the diet for 6 months, has been on cholesterol meds for 10 years, and has been given the OK by his doc to stop taking the meds now, as he has improved that much. Yes, this diet is clearly bad...
  16. Same here, and the biggest naysayers are the ones who havent gone on the diet...
  17. No ways - with all the **** going on around ISIS and Hamas we could discuss religion for days
  18. I thought you looked like a shadow of your former self!! Have done 2 rides so far, first one a week into it, and only about 25km... was quite tough I wont lie.. Second ride a week later was much better, 40km's and felt generally good afterwards, just couldnt do any sprints. That said, I think my body is adjusting quite quickly... carbs were a poison for me. Will be trying to add 10-20 km's on each ride. Cant wait for this 'Change' you mention...
  19. Are you a dietician? Qualified to make such an opinionated statement? At no point does Noakes advocate to athletes that they need to cut the carbs, infact he goes on to say that if you are very active, at your lean weight, then introducing carbs back into your diet isnt an issue. This diet isnt really geared specifically for sportsman, it just works for them as well, and everybody is different so speaking in generalities doesnt help anyone. Many many many topics exist online regarding endurance athletes mixing in additional carbs before an event without any negative effects on their ketosis.
  20. Ive been reading quite a bit about cyclists mixing in some carbs before races etc.. I just dont want to lose the ketosis I am currently in... Im generally a slow and steady rider though, not a sprinter. When I get down to my ideal weight, somewhere between 95 and 98kg's I may start taking on a few carbs for race days perhaps.
  21. Lynty!! Same problem with me.. Endurance has improved alot, but bursts of speed, flat or uphill leave me feeling pooped quite quickly. However recovery is quite quick compared to in the past. Only into the 3rd week of this diet, lost 4kg already and feeling fantastic.
