  2. Bulletproof coffee - how I love thee.. 1 tsp MCT oil 1 tsp kerrygold butter Coffee of choice sweetner of choice *** Protein (Egg, powder) if you need additional nutrients, otherwise get those at lunch/dinner. something to spritz it up, and make it nice and creamy. This is breakfast in a cup.
  3. Sheesh seriously unfortunate but I think most of us knew there had to be something wrong with their initial decision. Glad its finally cleared up..
  4. My folks keep bees, we get soo much honey we dont know what to do with it.. all raw and awesome. mix some with some brown rice syrup, mollassas and maybe some vanilla for flavour.. home made gels that really work...
  5. According to my GP, all low carb diets end up with elevated cholestorol in the first 2 months. He went on to say, do not get tested during this period. Wait 2 months or so then test and it should be more accurate.
  6. Ditto on Crown, Mark is a legend and saved me many a time... Prices are good as well I think..
  7. I still keep having to refer to my dad. On the diet for 6 months, has been on cholesterol meds for 10 years, and has been given the OK by his doc to stop taking the meds now, as he has improved that much. Yes, this diet is clearly bad...
  8. Same here, and the biggest naysayers are the ones who havent gone on the diet...
  9. No ways - with all the **** going on around ISIS and Hamas we could discuss religion for days
  10. I thought you looked like a shadow of your former self!! Have done 2 rides so far, first one a week into it, and only about 25km... was quite tough I wont lie.. Second ride a week later was much better, 40km's and felt generally good afterwards, just couldnt do any sprints. That said, I think my body is adjusting quite quickly... carbs were a poison for me. Will be trying to add 10-20 km's on each ride. Cant wait for this 'Change' you mention...
  11. Are you a dietician? Qualified to make such an opinionated statement? At no point does Noakes advocate to athletes that they need to cut the carbs, infact he goes on to say that if you are very active, at your lean weight, then introducing carbs back into your diet isnt an issue. This diet isnt really geared specifically for sportsman, it just works for them as well, and everybody is different so speaking in generalities doesnt help anyone. Many many many topics exist online regarding endurance athletes mixing in additional carbs before an event without any negative effects on their ketosis.
  12. Ive been reading quite a bit about cyclists mixing in some carbs before races etc.. I just dont want to lose the ketosis I am currently in... Im generally a slow and steady rider though, not a sprinter. When I get down to my ideal weight, somewhere between 95 and 98kg's I may start taking on a few carbs for race days perhaps.
  13. Lynty!! Same problem with me.. Endurance has improved alot, but bursts of speed, flat or uphill leave me feeling pooped quite quickly. However recovery is quite quick compared to in the past. Only into the 3rd week of this diet, lost 4kg already and feeling fantastic.
  14. Pretty much same recipe I used..
  15. Ok so made some 'Fat Bombs', well wife did and they worked pretty damn well. I wont lie, I am not a fan of the flavour, and next attempt I will not add cocoa powder, instead maybe some 85% Choc or stick to coconut flavours etc. We used the following recipe and halved the quantities to try out: http://primalperks.com/2013/10/11/fat-bombs-and-how-to-make-them/ As mentioned above, try use more coconut or 85% choc instead of Cocoa powder. These things also dont last long in open air, they liquify damn fast. Chewing on them is easy in that regard, and chasing with some water helps. But I definitely dont really enjoy the flavour. Had one of these before a 40km ride, and felt good the entire time. However I find I am lacking any sort of burst energy, or high output for short periods of time without feeling completely buggered. Long distance is great though, but I believe this comes with ketosis...
  16. Apparently there was a nasty split that ended up in an additional 20km's and some uber climbing. Bro in law was lying first in mixed and only came in 3rd because of this bad turn.
  17. Gonna wing it, along the right lines though. If they're good I will post the recipe.
  18. More coconut oil, butter or macadamia/almond butter, or any animal fat as far as I know. I keep droewors and fatty biltong at the ready as well. Will be making some fat bombs tonight
  19. More fat if you are still hungry
  20. I usually say something arb, and if theres a response which sounds at least a little interested, usually a conversation ensues. if nothing is said in return, you have your answer. Ive had some really good chats with some strangers on the trail before, only to split up again further along. That said, if im buggered i just cannot speak..
  21. We have our clothing shipped to relatives in the states who box it up as second hand clothing... no invoices and no import duties..
  22. I dreamt of cheating last night, nightmarish...
  23. Rather dont even respond to them.. ignore and continue riding, give a stare but no need to say anything. Dont think reporting it is going to help at all, its very much heresay which ever angle you take.
  24. Been on this diet for 1 week so far. Absolutely loving it. Changed my entire perspective and I am now converted.... Havent felt better in I dont know how long.
  25. What Riaz said, look to cross over Church street bridge into Woodstock...
