  2. He may be a Toe-down rider, then it would be fine, however if he was a flat pedal or heel down rider there would be issues.
  3. Crossmarks Tubeless running at 1.9bar, changing the front to Monorail at the moment.
  4. So maybe my problem is I weight over 95kg mmmm must do something about this.
  5. Rather go back to them and discuss the issues. If they are new and If they want to be any good give them a chance to resolve the issues, maybe the xmas volume was just too much for them. At least let them know they worked k@k and see if the man up.
  6. Well I apparently also ride like a moffie these days, and I have that helicopter tape on my downtube, but still get chips on the downtube (between my legs) and on the seat and chain stays stays. The seat and chain stays seem to get hammered the most. I also believe I look after my bike, but what do you do out on the rocky single track???? You gotta ride the thing.
  7. But why? it is an MTB no? Where I ride I need stuff to take scratches and chips out. There always seems to be a shower of stones coming from my wheels and they seem attracted to my frame!! I have never understood how ppl keep MTB's looking so new??? Let me know how it is done some time will you guys.
  8. Sweet Ride, enjoy!!
  9. Wif biiiig feet.
  10. Well I am entered in the Atte and this is to kick start the training. All depends how you handle it.
  11. A bit Belleville or East Rand. Looks more like a "Go Faster" add on. Cant help when the bike is on the rack.
  12. Depends what you mean put for these?
  13. Problem is the white bar tape. If you gonna be a poser then you need to carry the costs, replace the take on every ride.
  14. We do an easy loop 3 x a week (Tues, Wed, Thurs), weather permitting. Leaving Brakenfell at 04:30 via Old Oak, to Majik Forest, to Panorama then Bellville back to Brakenfell. You can Hook up with us at between 05:00 and 05:20 depending where and you will be back home by 07:00. PM me for details. PS we are currently 2 and are overweight and getting back into things, so not really racing snakes at the moment, but it is still a good workout.
  15. Google = Yes, I was a septic, but not any more. Takes a while to adjust from IE but waaaay better in the end. It just works!
  16. It's a Giant what about the Merida?
  17. no light that time it is Cape Town, but the roads are full of ppl training that time.
  18. must get fit! and loose weight! But still struggling to get up at 04:00 in the wet.
  19. However there are gradings Green Blue Red and Black. Some days i feel that a blue is like a black and visa versa. but that is on the same trails. Being unfit at the moment I cant even enjoy the gentle blue trails at Hillcrest!
  20. Here Here. I once went out riding with some dudes who said they loved single track and we did what we considered a gentle fast flowing rush. WTF the crapped themselves.
  21. +1 Me To!!!!https://cdn.bikehub.co.za/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/clap.gif
  22. Then don't take out a licence and don't do the races. Easy. Go ride your MTB, but don't forget to pay your permit fees each time you use private trails etc. Oh yes and don't expect to race either. But as you said if you don't see the value do something else. As long as ppl pay they will assume that you see value. Until such time as too few ppl pay, the SQ will continue.
  23. And to you the law is???????? Oh yes every one else must obey the law.............and I will shout and Stomp when someone else breaks the law. But I can do no wrong! And just let someone get killed. Fkn drivers.
  24. Sorry I am missing something here. What if your kid wants to do Balet, Cricket, Rugby, Gymnastics etc seriously? Damn that is R 350 for the year. You are gonna spend more on spare parts for the 1'st month. The next thing that is gonna come up is how dear the entry fees are, so yes they are, but no more than most other sports these days. I don't like it any more than you, but it is the way it is.
  25. The price of the bike does make a difference! 1. Placebo effect is huge 2. The bike IS lighter and feels more responsive (Subjective I know) 3. Once you spend a bomb on th bike you are obliged to ride more get fitter and faster........ or get divorced! So yes it does work!! Biig time. (Ok maybe not make you any smarter) And Mreida?? Ja there are tons of entry level bikes out there that are cheap, but that is because they are GOOD Bikes with lots of RND behind them, that has been paid for by the dudes spending on the top end bikes. This year's top end is next years midrange and the following years entry level. Oh and don't forget who owns Specialized.........
