  1. Hallo Oom. Julle kan altyd sommer net my hele tandem oorkoop..... (see notice board soon...) Ok, terug na jou vragies. 1. R.R.P. is so rondom R1,700. P.M. my maar eerder as jy pryse op die ander goeters soek. (Sal vir jou spesiale hubbers afslag gee, PLUS ekstra omdat jy 'n tandem ry.)
My 2c.
  3. Sorry, SA's topic too long to go find results.... Who won 35-39?
  4. Why not consider the Merida mission team edition instead?
  5. That can be arranged. Would you prefer it to be a black or yellow one (thats the Hummer, the "Humber" is only available in the Model-T colours of black, black or black)
  6. see, no BS, its THE "HUMBER"
  7. Full frontal.....
  8. You all can always come and test drive the MANIC CYCLES "HUMBER"......
  9. https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=11730 Please go there and pose any questions regarding Sunday's event. I'll gladly answer any questions. I'm hoping I can still ride a mtb, havent been on mine since breaking my arm in the snow, last year August.....
  10. So Marius & Poison Ivy..... Why were you not at the PPA feedback meeting last night to voice your opinion and your concerns / greviances? As stated on the PPA website: "At this meeting, the ExCo will give some feedback on their portfolio's" (amongst other things). At the end of the day, the PPA should be run by its members, but only those that bother to get involved will have to opportunity to make any difference. As was inevitable, the white line rule came under much discussion, so if you were there, you could have voiced your concerns. Who knows, you might even have had the opportunity to do some recruitment for your "League riders union" Just for the record, I was also DQ'd at Malmesbury, and I'm also upset that I still dont know where and when it happened, but rather than moaning and bitching about it, I'm trying to give my input in finding a solution to fine tune the implementation of the white line rule.WorcesterWheelers2007-04-12 01:26:33

  13. Schwinn is now distributed by Omnico, also agents for GT & Mongoose. The 2007 Schwinn Fastback Elite, has 105 Groupset with Truvativ Compact crankset, carbon rearstays and carbon fork. here's a link to the US site, and SA specs are identical. http://www.schwinnbike.com/products/intbikes_detail.php?id=805
  14. Have you tried the Scott CR1 Contessa, available in XXS?
  15. Fanie, ek het vir jou die perfekte raam vir daardie wiele. Giant - TCR Zero Ltd Gold edition, net R4,500.
  16. Hey!!! You all forgot about 1st Ascent! IMHO by far the best value for money around. Their bibshorts are probalby 1/2 to 1/3 of the top imported stuff.
  17. It's by FAR the best "upgrade" you can ever make on your bike!!!! I constantly battle with my weight, when I'm inshape, i'm about 77-78kg, when I'm fat and lacking serious training like currently, I'm at 83kg. The extra kg's make it a hell of a lot harder to race, ESPECIALLY when we start going uphill. Just a simple example, these days, for not too much money, you can buy a road bike of under 8kg. To loose 1.5kg on a bike, will cost you quite a few thousand rand. If you spent the same amount of money on a diatitian and shopping correctly and follow a healty eating plan, you could easily shed quite a few kilograms. I can't remamber the exact figures, but I think its something to the effect that, all other things beeing equal, for every 3kg you are heavier, you will climb 30sec slower on a climb with a 5% incline.
  18. Hi Racman. I would make, one of two choices. 1. If you are happy with your frame, keep it, and upgrade your wheelset and a few other items. 2. If you think your frame is flexing a bit too much under your 90kg rather sell the complete bike, and buy a whole new bike. Buying a new bike, is a lot cheaper than buying loose components. Just two quick examples; Schwinn Peloton ltd - Recommended retail R27,995 Comes with Mavic Ksyrium Es wheelset and Dura Ace groupset, with Ritchey WCS carbon handlebar and seatpost. You would probably spend the same amount on all the components if you had to buy everything as loose items (so basically you get the frame for free..) The same can be said with the new top end Raleigh (though they are apparently having a few issues with the frames). Again, for the price you pay for the complete bike, you could probably buy the groupset (Dura Ace), wheelset (Zipp 404 clinchers) and other components (losts of carbon) for the same price as what you would pay for the complete bike. But, if you don't get a good offer for your existing bike, then you could probably rather just opt for the upgrades. Of course you could always keep both, one for racing and one for sitting on the indoor training.... One final remark, do your home work on which components its worth while going for carbon. As Christie rightly mentioned. Make the comparison between weight saving vs. extra cost for carbon components. Carbon does make the ride a lot more comfortable by absorbing more road shock, but certain things the extra benefit is so small, its not always worth it. BUT, if you're like me, and have a insatiable carbon fetish, go ahead and spoil yourself....
