  1. Can't help reading these posts and thinking it sounds like a political rally and trying to win an argument with some of our politicians... It is never going to happen, doesn't matter how irrelevant and obscure their arguments are. CTG's, just face it, there are some of your members that have the wrong attitudes, which is detrimental to the sport of cycling and per definition the idea of a "FUN RIDE".
  2. Dude, I also have a built up OCR 0 like that. I feel for you... Will be on the lookout.
  3. Clearly he is... I saw the same "windgat" attitudes at the One Tonner... Luckily I was calm and enjoyed my slow training ride too much to even be bothered, but give me that *** attitude and arrogance when I am in race mode, boy...
  4. Both those bike are AMAZING value for money and will serve you 100%. If I could get a Gravir (100mm travel) for that price I would grab it anywday Good wheels for a bike of that price!
  5. Hidden Valley... Stellenbosch.
  6. I had a Anthem 29er aluminium, got stolen, and now ride the 29er Advanced.
  7. I had a hardtail for a while, went the Anthem route, and will never look back. Better control on trails, more confidence and much easier to climb the technical stuff. Like someone said earlier, it depends on your terrain you ride or race. If you do jeeptrack only, hardtail all the way. If you go technical, the dualies reign supreme.
  8. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA, ja, stir stir!!! It's Friday afterall!
  9. This one No jokes, IMHO, the Alum SLX X1 is the best value for money on the market at the moment.
  10. Blah blah blah! Try one of each, and buy the one you like!
  11. C, I hear there's a new dualie in die garage? We're doing it on the the dualies?
  12. Youve got a week and a half to get VERY familiar with your saddle ...patience...
  13. And teach them that violence in schools is also OK. The best thing I've learned in my life from my dad is while being in my bike or in my car, keep my emotions for myself. Use that frustration to rather catch the oke (or girl) again up the hill...
  14. That is one of the best looking carbon 29ers I've ever seen! Fabulous!
  15. With my limited knowledge I would think that is fine! Fork length (front) is a personal preference on many frames. The back shock (length) is more important though. I think though that the nature and design of the Pyga frame lends it towards more travel, but to get started the 100m should be fine, you can upgrade it later? That's my 2c.
  16. Good value for money that! With support and warranty.
  17. I am 78kg, and in the 1 year I had my Crest 29er wheels, I had to have them trued probably 3/4 times. I am definitely not an aggressive trail rider, but what I have found is that the wheels do not like bumpy rocky rides or being airborne... The Arches are a better bet IMHO for trail riding. If you plan to do XC mostly with some technical stuff, there is not a better wheel than the Crest out there, again IMHO.
  18. There is definitely not a brand in RSA with better value for money than Silverback (or maybe Momsen) in my opinion. The frame will outlast any other component on that bike. The ZTR wheels are fantastic. Upgrade as you go! Out of the box, it's a killer deal! Off topic: Rode a Silverback road bike (aluminium) for 3 years, and regretted every second selling it.
  19. Yes, they've had a nice vibe the last couple of times I've been in there. Wasn't too impressed by their service initially, but it's looking better. What I have found with most LBS's is the shop is only as good as the staff working on the floor and their energy and enthusiasm. Nothing irrirates me more thatn this "We don't need your business" attitude some LBS's have.
  20. The only problem with the 2013 model in my opinion was the brakes, but with the SLX on the 2014 model, you can not go wrong!
  21. IMHO, that 2014 Giant Anthem X1 29er is the best value for money you can buy. Very good XC bike that does not mind being abused in the trails... Read some reviews on the Superfly, and the "Twitchy on downhills" comments make me very scared!
  22. But if you're looking for a 100mm XC bike, a little voice told me that the Anthem X1 29er 2014 model aluminium should be around 23k... That is a lot of bike for the bucks.
