    Formula 1...

One one hand I agree and say it’s a private matter and we the public are not owed an update. But, on the other hand I feel that as a fan, who lived through his racing career and invested in it with our time, energy, emotions (and for many money) which also contributed to his popularity and fame do deserve at least some update. Just because people are not “family” doesn’t mean they not carrying any weight in this.
  2. I’m hungry for some more meaty chitchat here on this thread. It’s almost Friday and I don’t feel like watering the plants tomorrow.
  3. Not noise canceling but just got me one of these for home. Unbelievable sound from such a “small” unit. Alexa and Google enabled. Using with Spotify and Tune-in Radio, happy as a non-vegan in farm poop!!
  4. Go wash that mouth out with soap!
  5. Cool! I went to RPH too. About a decade earlier than you though I assume. [emoji16]
  6. Don’t assume the effort applied in a moderately controlled activity. Believe me, when I rock up at the start line, I’m more motivated than you to win. I’m rarely in any sort of “comfort zone”. The difference (not comparing to you) is that once I’m across the finish line I don’t get on the rollers to cool down and then go for a recovery nap. Friends, Family, Health, Wealth.....I try my best to treat them “equally” but with a passion on 100.
  7. Yip. We will drop huge cash on go faster bits (to gain 40 seconds) without much thought but struggle to see value in almost free training plans (which will cut way more off your times).
  8. I once explained the rpm and power these bmx guys produce on a thread here. I was flamed and called a bul...sh.....er
  9. If you are time bound, take your cycling “seriously” and want the best results for effort all on a very user friendly and good platform then I’ll say yes, it is very good value for money still. DCRainmaker actually covered this on his podcast recently, made a very good point that the monthly costs of most of these services is very undervalued when comparing what we pay for other things.
  10. The question is for TrainerRoad, not TrainingPeaks. :-)
  11. I hear you. But also could have been a smart move. He probably knows he can’t be WC in the Elite class this year and this was a good way to keep his profile and motivation up in the public eye as he prepares for the next few years. Also representing Spez well after what has been a shocking year for them.
  12. I had to push my bike to the petrol station once, about 2km. By the time I got there I wanted to burn the bike!!
  13. Everything in moderation. Across everything in your life is what I believe. So far, it’s worked well for me and those I have observed doing the same. Disclaimer: above excluding listening to your wife. For good health I suggest you do that in excess.
  14. Where did you stay in Weltevreden Park? I lived in that suburb from 1979 right up to my move to the UAE begging this year. Grew up on Cornelius Street, went to Panorama Primary.... My parents are still there! But they relocate to PMB next month to retire.
  15. Extract “Bike power was maxed out at 250 watts and motors stopped assisting racers at 25mph. Competitors hit the 6km course for four laps and about a hour of racing. Battery changes or charges were not permitted.” So everything above that was pure Alan !!
  16. BOOM. Done. Some more rainbow [emoji304] stripes for the young man.
  17. Just love it.... he has now passed the lead motorbike.

    MotoGP

Yeah. Nobody is harder on the front end than MM93. He’s an animal on the front tyre. So when everyone was running the hardest front tire even for qualifying it was obvious that Marc was going to have a difficult race. He couldn’t carry the corner speed he likes so he was even harder on the brakes while still in a straight line before turn in and you could see how gentle he was on corner entrance. But a great race actually. I enjoyed it. Would have been sublime if Dovi stayed in and Rossi didn’t fade.

Dovi didn’t qualify well, anyways he got a good start and was making places around the outside of the first turn on lap one. Fabio Quatararo lost the front end and went down, poor old Dovi seriously had absolutely nowhere to go and it happened in a split second. He t-boned Fabio’s bike and it became a launch pad. With Dovi out and MM93 coming second the championship is basically over now, down to just a mathematical chance. Overall a good race. Unfortunately VR46 could not reproduce his great weekend during the race and just slowly faded to 4th. Overall the Yamahas we looking very strong. That Suzuki of Rins was on rails, edge corner grip as tight as an ANC politician’s grip on corrupt money.

    Looks about right. [emoji848]
  21. My number one rule if it has a circuit board.....”Don’t ever let the smoke out the box” because once it comes out, you can’t put in back in!!
  22. Probably only item there that “could” raise a concern is the leaky sprocket shaft seal. Sometimes just wear and tear but can often be a symptom of a chain that’s run too tight and caused excessive wear. If shaft is damaged it a bit of a job to replace. Good luck, hope she turns out to be a keeper.
  23. I’ve never owned an LC4 but had a KTM Enduro bike (racing) and KTM1190 Adventure bike (commuting). Lovely bikes when they working, which was most of the time but if something goes wrong, it will cost you a fortune! For example, I broke the brake lever on my KX450, replacement was R400 from Kawasaki. Same thing happened on my KTM enduro bike and the Brembo replacement lever was R3500 (just the lever). And there were not any 3rd party options. Fork seals etc. for the White Power stuff is also more expensive than the Showa, KYB, Kiyaba alternatives. Swing arm and Heim Joint bearings on the KTM cost almost R4k, just for the bearings (and could not source from bearingman etc locally due to sizes). Not sure what I’m trying to tell you though. I absolutely loved my KTM’s. Just beautiful European engineering. But make very very sure it’s running well. Even a minor issue will swallow the R20k price asked for the bike.
  24. I don’t even live in SA anymore and I’m battling to cancel mine!!
  25. Oh I’m not sure, sorry. This was to my sister in the UK who I was visiting on holiday.
