I have 2 8 inch fans, I place the shoes upside down on the fans and let the fans do their work. But also having multiple pairs of shoes let’s me rotate through wet shoes I suggest a fan, and a cheaper pair of shoes for trainer use

@ACE Cycles, you are a legend for going to clean up! Your comments about contacting the organisers as a starting point was exactly what I said the post from last week. I would think it’s mostly grownups on this forum, but the need to groan in social media suggests otherwise And as much as the organisers have accountability, they probably paid someone to man this spot and clean up. Shame on whoever took the money and did half a job. If people just do their jobs this would never have been an issue

And this is my point-take it up with the event organizers. I never said he had to clean it up himself, but just posting about it will do nothing

I suspect not-he refers to change inner soles, as well as cleat positions. Sounds like he is getting hot spots on his feet, which arises from concentrated pressure on some of the feet, and also friction. Socks can be a contributor, incorrectly positioned cleats, poor blood flow and also soft soles on the shoes causing more direct pressure around the clear area as opposed to the pressure being distributed across a larger area due to a stiff carbon sole

OP is the one who complained about a plug in his tyre, claiming he was misled, and that all cyclists know plugs are a temporary fix. So he probably did watch the clip, but he also clearly has a very different view on the world

Not quite the same, that’s bicycle manufacturers fitting components made by another company. It’s not specialized collaborating with trek and scott to design a new frame, or suspension pivot, etc

My point is this is not a cycling issue, it’s just how the world works. We can make money and spend it how we like. Bicycle manufacturers make bicycle frames and the cockpit essentially. They then spec that with components by sram or shimano. I’m pretty sure the price of components is going up quicker than that of bicycle frames, but nobody is hating on them. Also, the marginal gains you talk about are important for the pro’s, it’s the difference between winning and coming second. But the cost of carry to have multiple SKUs for the pros, and for the competitive casual rider and just the rider who wants to have fun would probably make the cost of bicycles even more. The cost of cars is being contained by manufacturers sharing platforms (chassis, engines, gearboxes, etc). That’s probably never going to happen with bicycles. Again, let’s stop criticising people for doing their jobs.

This is called life. We don’t need the Old Khaki or WW clothes, Pep clothes will do just fine. We don’t need multi room houses, we can share a single room. We don’t need fancy TVs, actually we don’t need TVs at all. We don’t need a high stress job that pays millions when a job that pays a few hundred k will suffice. The basic human news are pretty basic, and everything else is just a want. There are bicycles skiing trips people to in that are far more expensive than an S-works or the Epic. Most people like to excel in life absa achieve. If they measure how the excel and achieve by the bikes they ride out the events they partake in, good luck to them. If you feel your bike is all you need, good luck. I personally like my carbon frame and wheels and my 12 speed electronic shifting, and I thank the manufacturers for all the R&D that goes into these things for me to enjoy. Let’s stop bashing people doing their jobs, and rather commend them for all that has been done.

Just use statshunter, gives good insights (although it lumps all activities together), but you can get monthly emails of progress, and other stuff.

@Christian van Zyl Hi Christian. Not really looking for support, but hopefully an answer. My right shifter on my KickrBike stopped working. I have unplugged and changed ports, but it makes no difference. Do you know if this is a bike issue or something to do with the shifter?

It’s a fancy bike, it has a middle shock. Must ride smooth…smoother than the operator who can sell it at 30k

I always wonder about this idea of adding a piece of cloth/rag between the frame and the clamp. I’m pretty sure there is a reason the rack manufacturers make the clamps with a soft grippy kind of rubber inside. This provides grip, so i you don’t need to tighten the clamp as hard. With the cloth/rag, you need force on the frame to secure it, as the cloth/ rag offers no grip. Rather keep your clamps clean, and gently wipe the frame where you intend to clamp it

Sometimes in life, things go wrong. Just got to accept that. I don’t think it’s reasonable to expect a manufacturer to carry lifetime warranties on their products. If they were uncooperative while under warranty, that’s a different issue. Here you are out of warranty, and they have offered you a compromise. Would I turn away from buying another Hammer? Probably not, unless there is something else that offers me comparable value for money Would I sell my remaining working hammer just because I’m upset with the manufacturer? No, that does seem a bit irrational/immature. You are complaining about having to pay in some money for the replacement hammer. The loss on selling your working hammer and replacing it with another new trainer will definitely exceed what you need to pay in on the replacement hammer

Here in Vancouver, MAAP is the kit to be seen riding in. Assos and the Italian brands like La Passione and Castelli are ready available, but nowhere near as popular. Other popular brands are PNS and Rapha. I justify the price of Assos based on its comfort and durability. I have no idea what makes MAAP so popular-everyone just says ‘it looks stylish’. I ride my bike to feel good, not to look good, so that’s just not enough reason for my to buy MAAP. I think you need to find/understand what makes MAAP so popular elsewhere, and use that as the basis to market it.

I remember the good days on the hub when comments in the classifieds were a thing, and we had the non-cycling related threads…people were well mannered. If someone felt aggrieved, it was brought before the hub on an anonymous basis to determine if there is fault, and if fault was found, then the guilty party would be named and shamed. These days everyone just runs to the hub to complain about something without first seeking advice

I called this a rant because you came out calling people out and stating how you disapprove of their behavior. That is clearly a rant, you just tried to disguise as a poll. You wanted comments, and now you are calling people who diss agree with you keyboard warriors. I’m pretty sure their comments would remain the same if given in person. People very seldom pay extra for ‘upgrades’ on a second hand bike. Maybe I want to run axs, or shimano, but because of the new components you added, as a buyer I would probably not want to change these parts immediately because they are new, so ultimately I would not be buying the bike I want. You are selling the bike for more that what you paid for in the end. Maybe I should start a poll asking whether selling bikes for more than what you paid for is acceptable and call @MM out for this kind of behavior.

@MM maybe you overpriced by 10k and they only lowballing you 4k in reality This is a rant by you based on a single ‘bad’ experience. You should rather ask @BikeMarketcoza their reasons for their low offer, and bring that up in this forum. This way you will get more meaningful insight/comments

I feel somebody should how did that wear actually happening? I dropper is not like a fork that’s constantly moving and subject to scratches if there is dirt under the seal. Seems like this is attributable to something more going wrong and rubbing on the stanchion

A good reason to buy a premium garmin watch over any other sports watch (or even a garmin head unit) out there is FirstBeat which using the HR sensor, can determine a whole variety of things. It’s so good it was able to pick up a higher than usual HR (which I attribute to my body trying to repair an adductor injury) and actually encouraging me to rest. Apple may be be rich with other features, but the Garmin integration of FirstBeat is incredible and far more useful than the Apple ecosystem. I don’t need my watch integrated with my phone/laptop/appleTV, I just need it paired so that I can upload my activities to GarminConnect.
